You can pre-order the limited colored vinyl, with a foil accented cover, right now. Joey Cape, Lagwagon’s singer/song-writer, had this to say about the making of the record:
"Hoss" was a transitional album for Lagwagon. We had extensive touring under our belts and for the first time we were comfortable exploring our sound. The band shared love for many styles of music. We were getting bored but transforming. As a songwriter, I wanted to diversify. The change was minor of course, but significant to the development of our signature and identity. 
 
"Hoss" was the first record we made with producer, Ryan Greene. We had a slightly bigger budget and Ryan pushed us harder than we were used to. He was tough and we needed that. We worked well together. We recorded at a studio owned by the great Max Norman called "Fat Planet.” Max had produced some early Rock and Metal albums that we loved. We were stoked but there were looming issues. 
 
The album was rough to get through. Lagwagon was on the verge of some big changes and setbacks. We lost two members of the band in the the years that followed. I appreciate that album and have fond memories of the time but, there are scars too. "
 

After a few more listens I have come around on it myself.
I don't think its quite as solid as Volition, IMO, but Its really a great album.
Also loving the B-sides as well.

I think this colorway is a really a stunning match for the album art, and fits very nicely.
In retrospect, I wish I had also picked up one of the american flag variants, as those have been coming out very nice also. 

I know I’m kind of giving you shit about this stuff man but I really am trying to understand.  Me personally, if I see any thread bumped at all by any artist or band I’m interested in, I check it.  Doesn’t matter if it was made today or 6 years ago.  There was obviously a reason for said bump, so it’s usually worth checking out.

There is no EP, per the band. The record is delayed until next year cause they can’t tour it.

hopefully people respect the band and don’t spread around any leaks. I won’t listen at all until the record comes out, cause I want to ingest as intended.

No, they became independent around the end of 2018. I would guess this release will be independent as well.
