Don’t know if anyone cares about Discogs or this particular issue in general, especially on a very old thread. But I just wanted to reach out to all of you and say thanks for everything here. Using all of your information I was able to get the Discogs pages/master release/releases fixed so that there isn’t a secret translucent orange copy listed and the red first press is appropriately cataloged and explains the manufacturing variations of the opaque red vs translucent orange.

The only reason I fell down this rabbit hole was because I’m trying to gift my wife a huge stash of the variants of TGG and researching everything lead me here. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks because everything here lead to the fix and I appreciate it.

You've gotten these types of responses for a few reasons:
 
1. The community doesn't take too well to people that are into records because of their looks/rarity or just to put them on the wall in a frame.
 
2. There is already an UO thread where all new releases or questions can be asked... HERE'S THE LINK (people don't like duplicate threads as the board is already pretty cluttered)
 
3. There's a general disdain for UO here as they are for the most part just capitalizing on the record boom with no real effort
 
 
My advice in your question... just buy what you would want and what you'd listen to. Records can be pretty, but if you don't like it you'll look at it in a year or two and think to yourself "that was a dumb purchase" (been there)

Really anything thats not a classic record or a massive band or certain soundtracks, ends up in clearance at UO. Whenever I see something I want, I just wait like 3-6 months. /shrug

Forgot to mention a great part of this, the "cover" for the """""""""box set""""""""" (again, just folded thick photo paper) is a promo picture not from this album, but from Everything Is Debatable. 5 years old.

This is super upsetting. As for how we shouldn't take this for what it is, I can almost guarantee a credit card dispute for not getting what you paid for would refund you. Not saying that's the way to go but from a more serious financial perspective it's totally not okay. I was considering the box set and I'm glad I didn't. I would have been really disappointed.
