ntslash reacted to mameeshkamowskwoz in Tool Vinyl BUYING GUIDE (Original/Boots, etc.)
It's called Evolution because it's a concept album about the life of the Galapagos tortoise. Danny Carey has recently developed an interest in equatorial sea life. That's why he started The Legend of Seagullmen. The new album closes with a rework of a Rage Against the Machine song featuring Zach De La Rocha during the breakdown called Know Your Anemone.

ntslash reacted to DarrenMcCall in New Website Detects Deals On Amazon
I built an app that automatically detects deals on Amazon faster than 3Camels. Deals are automatically added and removed by the app. I recently added the website front-end to it and opened it up to everyone.
Check it out: http://dealsonvinyl.com/
Let me know if you have any questions!

ntslash got a reaction from bridley in PO NOW: Bon Iver - Emma, Forever Ago (ltd reissue)
Same here. My copy sounds fine. Definitely not one.of my best sounding records, but it seems to fit the sound of the overall album quite well.

ntslash got a reaction from Sidney Crosley in PO (Soon): Damien Rice - O
Sounds like this is mastered for vinyl from the original digital files. It was never recorded to tape, so that's the best we can hope for. Damien mentioned that it's taken so long because of past issues with test pressings, so it sounds like the quality control is going to be there.
I'm ready to pay any price for this one.

ntslash reacted to swazzyswess in PO: SPAWN (AGAIN): A TRIBUTE TO SILVERCHAIR
You don't want to hear Northlane's (?) timely cover of Anthem for the Year 2000?

ntslash got a reaction from A-Bon in PO: SPAWN (AGAIN): A TRIBUTE TO SILVERCHAIR
This seems pointless. I'd rather just listen to Silverchair. Why are we at the point where we need a tribute to Silverchair?

ntslash got a reaction from stl_ben in PO Now: Sufjan Stevens - The Greatest Gift (Carrie & Lowell demos/remixes)
Back when I was 10 and didn't have a CD player yet, cassettes cost $12 to $15 at all the music stores. You kids today have it so easy!

ntslash reacted to dantheriver in PO: My Bloody Valentine - Loveless and Isn't Anything
I’m not sure if they were trying to send the message of “here you go have three you baby” or if they genuinely thought “if we throw 3 into the same box surely one of them won’t get beat up, right?”.

ntslash reacted to xxmartinxx in PO now: Quicksand "interiors" out Nov 10th
So, I'm the only one on here who thinks the new song is pretty much a yawn? It sounds like a boring Rival Schools song that doesn't go anywhere. It feels so excrementable.

I don't think I'd ever want to listen to it without the video. The video is what makes it such an awesome performance. This is a show to see, not one to hear in isolation.

ntslash got a reaction from tape in PO now: Live - Mental Jewelry - purple vinyl - 25th anniversary
This is half a great album. Side A kills. Side B bores me. But I'll definitely pick up a copy.

I heard that Sandbag isn't shipping out any replacement jackets until we can go one full week without complaining.

ntslash reacted to pepperonigin in PO Afghan Whigs represses
Good lord, been waiting for these for awhile.
For anyone popping into this thread randomly, these guys are one of if not THE most underrated bands of all time. I probably wouldn't start with any of these necessarily, maybe Congregation, but Gentlemen and Black Love are perfection. Now all we need is a Blackberry Belle repress and I'll be set.

I know it's a petty, stupid thing...but the album is called "Boxer" not "The Boxer."

That's funny because I made a list of all the people I'm never buying from based on the comments in this thread!

ntslash got a reaction from freezeflash in PO: Radiohead - OK Computer - oknotok
Box set showed up today. This thing is stunning. I managed to fit the records into the box still in their paper sleeves. I wasn't able to do that with my AMSP box. It makes things a little wonky, but gives some extra protection to the records. I'm excited to give this a spin and see how it compares to my blue pressing, although I've only listened to Side E on the blue pressing so far. Listened to it about 20 times, that is. Having official recordings of "Lift" and "Man of War" on vinyl is all that I need.

I certainly wouldn't accept delivery without the issue being fixed---i.e., Sandbag should send replacement mailers and address their shipping issues, the first of which has already happened for a bunch of people on here with Deviations, including myself. My Before the Flood showed up perfect. The other records should too. There's no reason a company cannot get records to consumers in mint condition. They're brand fucking new.
