They sold out long before you ever even heard their name.

Just shut up and buy it.

ntslash got a reaction from moonbeams in Question for colored vinyl record collectors: Would this piss you off?
I personally don't care if the color looks different than the original mockup or description. Most preorders indicate the actual color might be different anyway. Only thing I would really care about is if I received the wrong variant (example - if I ordered the blue swirl edition out of 100 and received the solid white out of 5000).

If the records just look different than the original mockup, then I would let people know and give them a chance to say they want to cancel the order.

Now, if I bought a car in a certain color and they sent me the wrong color, then I would be pissed and would demand they paint it the correct color for no charge.

In your case, since they haven't gone on sale yet, you could always list it as random colored pressing and post a few pictures of examples. You could also add a note box on the order and allow people to indicate if they have a preference of color. If they don't, just send one at random.

I'm sure they will be more expensive for completely unknown reasons.

I ended up with two copies because of panic preordering. If you are interested, I can do $43 shipped which covers my costs plus shipping to you in the U.S. Let me know if you are interested.

During a Q&A before the Afghan Whigs show last night, Dulli mentioned that the box set release is "imminent". He said they're all remastered and the covers are reimagined versions of the originals. He said the box set includes everything, including the stuff he didn't want us to previously hear. Due to the normal vinyl production issues, they had to prioritize getting the new Whigs LP pressed first. One Little Indian/Independent is handling it.

Got my Siamese Dream from Deep Discount and of course it is beat to hell. I think I will wait 12 years and then contact the record label about a replacement!

Why does anyone still package any type of media or collectible in PVC?

Iowa and S/T both coming from Amazon tomorrow. Amazon pulls through where Bullmoose, Popmarket, and Walmart all failed for me.

Caught these guys on their farewell tour last night. Been a long time fan but never seen them before. Holy hell did they bring it last night! Great setlist with a mix of everything, tons of energy, and the sound was awesome. Pretty much every song sounded much better live.

If you have a chance to see them, I highly recommend. Far exceeded expectations even though they didn't play Rainbow Signs, which is my favorite song of theirs.

Agreed they are a must-see band. I certainly wouldn't put them at #1, but they always do an excellent show.

    $50 sale price = $50 in revenue

    $31 original purchase price + $10.50 seller fees + $5 shipping costs + $2 packaging + $4.50 mileage write-off for trip to post office = $53 expense

Looks like a $3 loss to me!

Here is a simple test: if you are selling to make a profit, report as business income. If you are selling to clear shelf space for more new records, report as personal income.

If you wait in line for 6 hours at RSD and buy 25 titles to flip for a 50% profit, you can make a clear business case.

If you sold a copy of Rumors that you listened to 75 times over the years for $20 so you could buy something else for your collection, then that's not business income and you probably shouldn't write off the $8 you spent on the record.

Just lunch a free Wix site, give yourself a name like Joe Blow Records, link to your ebay store, and then you can submit it all as business income and subtract the COGs. Easy peasy.
