    The I-Only-Liked-Them-When-Max-Was-High Fans:

S/T - "Too mainstream. Too overproduced."
Anarchy - "Too soft. Too underproduced."
Hebrews - "Too weird. Too overproduced."
IDTII - "Too hard. Too underproduced."

...Maybe Max just has eclectic tastes and likes putting out records that experiment with different vibes?

    Nahhhh.

I agree, but at the same time I know those songs were all produced pretty lo-fi, so the quality certainly wouldn't be there. But I'd still buy it for the general vinyl experience. Also because I'm a sucker and need every SA release.

Also it would be awesome to have By Tonight on vinyl for... reasons...

Really, it's true about a lot of records. I'm pretty open minded when it comes to things related to the music I love.
Even if Max aimed to make another IARB or IDOTG, it would never be the same because we're not; nor is Max the same.
Some of you are going to hate it just because you don't like it, and that's 100% okay, but I urge anyone who couldn't get past the first track to just give it one solid run through. There are some solid tracks in here.

I'm lucky that I got to see Modest Mouse at a club. I took a girl there and she got mad that the only PDA I was down for was holding pinkies instead of holding hands. My adopted brother ran into his ex and her (then) current boyfriend and caused issues by telling them something that was supposed to be a secret because he drank a 5th of Jack while trying to impress the girl he liked who helped run the place.

    RIP The Bait Shop.

My wife and I's record collection:

I got a bit of space to grow, but I'm in that awkward period where I don't have enough records to fill out another cube... guess that means I need to buy a bunch more records??

I was told that they received a large discount from the pressing plant and that the refunded money would be used for shipping charges, so maybe they're just replacing stuff as efficiently as possible.

I know everybody likes to bitch about this stuff and I get it to a degree, but think about them as human beings. Aaron and Spencer are the only ones really doing music anymore. Aaron's music is successful but very different. Spencer's is... not nearly as successful as UO.

You've spent a decade of your life as part of a creative vanguard making awesome music that people flip their shit for. Then you spend 3 years in civilian life either doing normal shit or doing music that really isn't as well received or is drastically different from what you spent your glory years doing. Somebody says "hey let's do a quick reunion tour for our two most well-received records and probably make some decent money while living a small taste of our old life", you're gonna be like "sign me the fuck up." I don't care how fulfilled they may be in their current careers, you're hard pressed to find a career musician who isn't itching to relive the rockstar experience every few years.

So I finally got around to grabbing this, and it turns out the real reason it's a 2xLP is that it's 45 RPM. Pleasant surprise. Actually sounds really smooth and fantastic, was not expecting it to be as great of a pressing as it is. Only downside is the jacket isn't a gatefold, which always kind of annoys me with doubles, especially when they're priced like this one. But whatever, still a great sounding pressing that I'll be enjoying every December.

I bolded an important thing. Parenting now is handing them the tablet or smart phone. My dad took me to my first real show when I was 11 and was the person who sparked my interest. He passed not long after but the seed was planted and I'm thankful every day.

Apparently Jimmy Ryan had no idea this was coming out until a friend sent him a picture of his copy. Solid State can't shoot a few emails and let bands know?

Almost every release SS has been doing recently has failed to include an insert and it doesn't seem like the band is necessarily made aware until it's in the process already if happening. As Cities Burn guys didn't know till after that CNS was being released either. Personally, that doesn't bother me as much as not including some kind of insert. Vinyl should be the ultimate for artwork and information about an bands release bc there is more space to do it. To not include anything but the record itself is lazy in my opinion.
