it's the type of the album that's definitely a grower - I'll be surprised if anyone instantly enjoys it. that sounds like an excuse but whatever. also a lot of these songs sound "better" within the context of the record as well.

Got my yellow copy like a week or so ago and just now got around to taking a picture. Pretty fantastic looking. I was expecting the typical transparent yellow/gold color, but was pleasantly surprised with a barely translucent soft yellow color that I've never seen before. Sounds great, too!

"I hate that dude now that he's married. He's got a baby on the way; poor Sherri. That's not apropos. He's not the wretch we know. Chop his family up so we can feed them to the front row. Spike his fifteenth espresso with drugs so he's convinced it's a manic delusion to know true love. Be 19 with a joint in hand. Never change the band. Never ever be a ...real man.

Finally got my copy in today! Mine too needed quite a bit of cleaning, but otherwise it's in good shape and sounds quite nice.

Edit: Picture to prove that, yes, it finally does exist.

I think if I were buds with Max, regardless of how this album turns out, I would suggest either scaling back or ending Song Shop, taking a year or so off touring and writing, and just take time to relax and be a dad. I really do think he's spreading himself too thin and wearing himself out. When his best work (according to the vast majority of people) was being made, that was pretty much all he had going on (besides drugs and sex, but, y'know...), whereas now he's a husband, a father, runs a label imprint, writes comics, runs Song Shop, and works on three band projects. I'm glad he's getting to do so many things he loves (he deserves it), but it seriously is a ton of stuff and I think it'd be beneficial to take some time to reassess. Personally, I hope we don't see the end of Say Anything for a long, long time, but I wouldn't be offended if we didn't hear anything for 3 or 4 years if he came back with a killer album.

All that being said, Six Six Six is undeniably growing on me. Still feels weak, but I am enjoying it.

Context made it seem like a tour variant. I love my purple copy and really ought to not get a double, but that really is an attractive variant.

A lone copy of Interpol's "Our Love to Admire" at Horizon Records in Greenville, SC for $8. Found it right before meeting my now-girlfriend for our first date, so, that was a pretty damn good day.

I've been working with multi rotors for about 8 months in the context of aerial video. Obviously the ones I work with are remote controlled rather than autonomous, so there's the added factor of user error, but these things are pretty serious. Amazon's going to need to get some military-grade software to make sure these things don't get into some big trouble. Trees, buildings, power lines, birds, douchebags throwing/shooting stuff, battery failure, component failure. Then you get into the landing issues and you have to deal with a lot of other stuff, but most notably the fact that so many people are going to be dumbasses and try to approach the craft while it's landing. I think the idea is nice in theory, but it's got so many aspects that can go horribly wrong.

Honestly, as much as I love Amazon and the innovation they pioneer, I've really been hoping multi rotors would stay on the down low. This move by Amazon is going to increase the stakes on the upcoming FAA decision, and it could cause a lot of trouble. Plus a lot of people are very ignorant about "drones" (if I could erase that word from common usage, I would) and this may cause even more backlash. But I guess we'll just find out.

Wow, halftime, you seem like you have the perfect personality to be a rapper. Not like a good rapper, just one who has a bunch of feuds and uses autotune a lot.

Anyway, been wanting to pick one of these up for a now-playing for quite some time now. Cool to hear they're expanding. Don't need the euro-sized one, though, so I'll probably just stick with picking up one of the current ones when I get some spare dough.

I meant in the sense of owning a record just to own it. If I buy this record, I wanna be able to play the shit out of it and enjoy it. It's been in pretty heavy rotation for me over the past year, so it would break my heart to have it end up being one of those pressings that you just have to give up on and listen to digitally (I'm looking at you, Letlive's The Blackest Beautiful).
Seems like most people are quite happy with the sound quality, though, so that's a relief. Probably gonna order it on my next paycheck.

I swear, MerchNow has the worst looking vinyl mockups. Stoked they're pressing this on vinyl, though. Max and Sherri both seem to be pretty big fans of vinyl, but it's been kinda hard to gauge how major of a release they're making this.

This is simultaneously my favorite and least favorite thread.

FWIW: To me, listening to records is a treat. I mostly listen to music via MP3s/WAVs on my computer, so listening to records is kind of an event for me. I love the physicality. People who bitch about anyone who cares about anything other than the music itself when it comes to vinyl will always be wrong to me, because, in my mind, vinyl is about the physical, visual, and aural all together. The OP seems to have a vendetta against colored vinyl because it's supposedly a money-making gimmick for collectors. Personally, I love colored vinyl because it adds to the experience. I love seeing a release with awesome color variants that compliment the album artwork or reflect the mood of the music. As far as limited pressings, I'll agree, they can get a little ridiculous. But as someone else mentioned, a lot of the music being put out on vinyl today is pressed by small record companies who can't afford a 100,000 unit pressing. They press 500 because they know they can sell 500. That's how business works. And yes, they are out to make money. Everyone's got bills to pay and hobbies (like, you know, owning records or something silly like that) to spend on. Do I care about having a limited pressing of a record? A little bit. There's something special about knowing that only 99 other people in the world have the same thing you have. It adds to the special connection that vinyl gives me to the music. Do I go out of my way to get the rarest variant? Hell no. But hey, one thing that I've noticed on this board is that everybody enjoys vinyl in different ways and for different reasons. Do some of the reasons seem a little stupid? Sure. Is that going to stop me from enjoying my records? Nope.
