Man, what if the album sucks?

Ordered the blue & yellow splatter off Blood Music. This is so weird. Figure 10 years down the line, there will be hundreds of more-or-less "official" variants floating around. Discogs page is gonna be a nightmare...

You'll be waiting a long time as it seems that they are not pressing any physical release themselves. Just putting the files out there for all to do as they wish. So these are not bootlegs at all.

Either I'm getting old or I just don't care anymore - probably more important stuff out in the world to worry about than a relatively obscure electronic artist pressing more records.

the variant sold out in one day. obviously, they underestimated demand and pressed more to accommodate more than the fans who got lucky enough to see it/the fastidious collector and flipper types. they announced they'd be upping the pressing #s the very same day, too.

if someone doesn't like it, thinks their copy is less valuable or whatever, i'm sure Anticon will gladly cancel the order.

I listened to  AOTS this morning to double check my opinion, and I have to say, I can't believe that a Pinback fan would rate this album poorly. I've come to the conclusion that anyone that doesn't like it, must have a defective copy. The album is great.

Agreed.  And I never bought a vinyl copy of this so $25 wasn't ludicrous for a variant of an album I didn't own

Blockhead is great, although the quality of his work dropped pretty sharply after Downtown Science IMHO. The Music Scene from 2009 is the one I've liked most since. Still looking forward to checking this one out. 

While this is not the Dead Horse that I initially thought it was(I nearly shat my pants). I still want to thank you for posting this because the "Real" Dead Horse I thought it was, is actually releasing a new album in Sept., lol. It's called "The Beast That Comes".

Other Men - Wake Up Swimming (2007)
Essentially Rob Crow's revival of Heavy Vegetable minus one of the members. A very under-appreciated album in Rob's discography. Lack of vinyl release may have something to do with that, but in 2007 probably not.

The allotments across all regions were actually proportionately similar -- bloom lowest, water middle, gilden largest. I'd imagine this reflects the total pressing amount unless when the next batch of inventory goes up we see the reverse order in quantities happen (e.g. gilden fewest, etc). Bloom sold out at almost the same time as Water in the UK, for whatever reason the water variant just picked up tons of steam towards the end and out-sold it (even though there were quite a few more waters in stock initially).
 
It was a blur because, well, intense hobby... but I think the US store had something like:
 
Bloom 90
Water 250
Gilden 400
 
So my first thought was that the total numbers for them worldwide is something like Bloom 300-500, Water 500-750, Gilden 1000-1500.
 
This is fucking dumb. What am I doing with my life. There are people making a difference everyday and I'm just... god damnit.

$50+ after shipping and that website is shit. Does Brand New hate their fans, or simply view them as a revenue center?

I bet it will look good on my white TT with acrylic platter. It's not scheduled to arrive until Friday though.
