Canuckle reacted to vinyl addict in The Official 'Vinyl Me, Please' thread.
Some of you want a new jacket because of a seam split? C'mon guys, returning/requesting replacements is just going to jack up the prices for future releases.
I can see a damaged record, but a seam split? Some of you need to stick to CDs.

I can't answer all of that, but I do believe that I saw recently on the forum one of the staff members say that you shouldn't get hit with any customs fees and if you do they usually credit that amount to your account (not refund it, but give you that amount in store credit). So if that's what your worried about hopefully that answers your question.

I thought we all just agreed a couple months ago to only post referral codes in your signature so every other post isn't someone asking for or offering a code.

You're probably good waiting a month to pick it up when it becomes available to non-members.

Well...If 21 times constitutes being a crazy person...the number of times I've seen NIN live, I may as well be the lunatic running the proverbial asylum.

Same. I've listened to the singles but I'm waiting for my copy in the mail.
I'm confused how anything danceable is considered the same genre in this thread. There is a huge difference between Haitian rhythms and 80s disco...

Tyler said on twitter that the vinyl release is made to order. So, I think that's why. He also said he was interested in doing a small run of these which explains the Thursday night cutoff.

Loved Reflektor, so given the early hate for this I'll probably be thrilled.

I know it's a petty, stupid thing...but the album is called "Boxer" not "The Boxer."

So I think they mean it'd be City Music/Betty Davis/Boxer

I dunno, The Social Network S/T is one of my favorite pieces of TR work in the past little while, and even though Ghosts I-IV feel like ideas and not fully formed songs, I loved the concept and enjoy revisiting it every now and again. But I totally get where your coming from given some of the aesthetics AR brings to the table.
With that said, I'd kill for this on vinyl and think this is some of Ross's best work: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Error_(Error_EP)

Also, given the tone of NIN's music, I find most people's favorite NIN albums align with their teens-early twenties when people are often at their most brooding, angsty, anti-establishment, etc.
Obviously a generalization but it's something I definitely observe when talking to 10 years my younger fans that love WT and YZ while I lean towards TDS and TF.

I actually really like the soundtrack work they do together, but the NIN material with Ross doesn't really connect with me. As I mentioned, it could just be coincidence.
Edit : at least not at the level that the earlier material did. I do enjoy the newer material, it just don't consider it essential like I would PHM -through The Fragile era.

Error was fucking amazing. Still have my mini-CD of it. Epitaph should definitely press this or at least re-release it on CD.

When I picked up mine, the receptionist went to a side room with all the orders sitting around. You wouldn't be able to tell which one is which because they're all in boxes/packaging.

I'm in the 'this set was meant for diehards' camp. This isn't The Fragile or Broken or TDS.... or MCIS or a smaller bands debut album.... it's a collection of instrumentals, alternative takes, demos and b-sides.
For that reason, from a business perspective, I get why it's $80, but also see why an objective observer would see this as overpriced. TR has always put a price on exclusivity and has never had a problem with charging out the wazoo for the 'full' package (Ghosts Deluxe, TGWTDT, Cargo In The Blood). Also, if $80 gets him the cash he needs to tour and make more music (assuming a chunk of the other sales go to the labels), then it's a huge thumbs up from me.

Weird, picked up a copy for 49.99 CAD up here (Rotate This had it for 44.99 but when I saw it in SB I didn't want to risk it...) but both had Made In EU on the barcode. Guess we got the UK version?
