I respectfully disagree. Consistency is actually the main feat of this band IMO. I love De-Loused and Frances as much as the next guy, but apart from Octahedron, which I adore but is a bit tame, I would rate them all pretty much the same. Amputechture and Bedlam are my go-to albums most of the time.

I don't own thousands of records, but I can proudly state that across the hundreds I /have/ purchased, I've complained and demanded replacement sleeves or copies in less total instances across my entire history of buying records than you have on the most recent page of your post history, lol.

Also - I'm REALLY curious. Do you just.... not get that you are paying the record label for the record, and you are paying /THE POST OFFICE/ for the shipping of said record?  If something is absolutely ass blasted to fuck or packed in a pizza box - complain away, my man.  If something was shipped in a mailer, WITH an extra cardboard insert, and has a widdel baby corner ding... how you think that is somehow the fault and financial responsibility of the label is just beyond me.

Look at you saying you'd do everything in your power if you were the seller -- why don't you do what's in your power as the buyer? Only buy up-charged shipping speeds with guarantees or insurance minimums.  The media mail option you are paying for is not covering the 3 additional sleeves labels need to send you, and the 300 they need to send to the other 100 people just like you who ordered the same thing.

Hey, all things considered - I'm glad you posted!  Now I know who to thank every time I have to place an order for a $35 before shipping new LP because prices have raised $15 due to the never ending train of crybaby collectors demanding replacements and yelp-harassing any labels who refuse to give them.

Average Eilish listener took out loans to buy an entry-level Tesla. All in on the "next big thing"

Bruh, you paid $500 for a Mars Volta box that has like 2 serviceable albums at best.  Let's be real.
Untitled LP + EP are indeed so good though.  On first listen I thought they were among the band's best material to date and in hindsight I still feel that way.  Definitely revisit those sooner than later.

Yes, sending such an aggressive email as your initial inquiry into a preorder status is pretty disrespectful.

yes, value judgments are a thing. just because your judgment of an artist's music is positive don't make you right, necessarily. people who question why others post dissenting views on a very hyped artist need to do a little introspection.

responding by questioning why someone even posted a negative take assumes there is no value in presenting a non-positive value judgment on anything... which is obviously insane.

just did two full listens through. big oof. this sounds like an album that could have preceded Stage Four (by far their best album and a great album period, in my opinion) but is nowhere near as memorable musically or thematically.

A few catchy melodies here and there but they're far outweighed by bland filler and big yikes lyrics like the entire opening of the last track "A Forecast", where the only conclusion I can draw is he's complaining about not getting calls on the anniversary of his [mom's?] death (strange form of grief), and then in the next breath says some of his still living families members are "dead to him" because they differ from him politically. Like, grow up, man. There's other examples, but i'm one that can be turned off from a project by just a few shallow lyrics, so that's on me.

it just sounds like a lot of insecurity, self-pity and doubt when you'd hope for personal growth from tragedy.

disclaimer: don't vote, so don't start
