Chrundle The Great reacted to shamrocks in Shoegaze/Dream Pop Thread
thats cool and all but youre about 40 years too late on that. i havent listened to the track but i bet it sounds like most SG which makes half the people on here dizzy and the other half angry
some of the best music of this century has been made with a keyboard and a hard drive
(edit: not even that kind of keyboard)

Chrundle The Great reacted to whoa in Help Needed! Slipknot self titled album "blood lemon"?
Sorry, you just met a chav on the internet. Not all Brits are like that, it's just when you've had a potent kebab after a night out on the cheapest 'spoons lagers, you get a rage the next day that doesn't end when you've done a big poo. You usually see these guys walking around town centres with their shirt off, stained joggers, market quality Nikes sneakers (swoosh peeling off), arms hovering to the sides from invisible lats syndrome, the cheapest deodorant whole can sprayed all over which you can smell down wind a mile away, cheapest silver chains clanging about like loose change. And that 1000 yard stare; You must not give them eye contact until they've made it to Greg's for a steak bake or McDonalds, otherwise you have to endure about 5 minutes of them yelling "what u looking at mate? You gay or something? COME ON THEN U WANT SOME". Masking their sexuality with a bit of fighting talk, but they'd probably fit in nicely at a sportswear fetish night in Vauxhall arches.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed it, good fun that!

Chrundle The Great reacted to Derek™ in OUT NOW BUY IT - Strange Ranger - Remembering The Rockets (7/26/19)
This band has lost me so hard. RTR was the last record of theirs I think I actually jived with. Tough to accept that was 4 year ago.
With each passing release these last few years, it’s becoming increasingly obvious that they captured lighting in a bottle with Rot Forever. 😕

Chrundle The Great reacted to dork337 in New Found Glory "Coming Home" Being Pressed?
My devil's advocate take on this (and I say this as a spectator, never been involved in writing/recording/releasing music on a label): I guess I understand why Chad Gilbert is upset about small labels acquiring licenses to re-press his music on vinyl without him knowing, but my dude, the reason this is able to happen is because of the contracts you signed when recording and having these large labels release your music. Signing contracts like that can bite you in the ass if you make it big, but it could go the other way around if the band never took off. That's the premise of these types of contracts. The label gives a generous(ish) offer (I assume) but they take on a lot of the risks associated with putting out an album. You'd be able to legally stop it from happening/let your friends put the vinyl out if you hadn't sold your rights to make those kinds of decisions, rather than just banking on "my blessing."
Idk, am I off-base with this one?

Why not just ask nicely if they can ship it in a box if you buy it? I don't understand the entitlement / attitude in the wording. Why is this so funny?

Underdark is finally releasing a full length. Each variant is limited to 150. US one might look cool if it comes out correctly. I decided to go with the EU splatter. They are anti-fascist.

Chrundle The Great reacted to verb1999 in Underoath - Three Represses (Chasing Safety, Define the Great Line, Lost in the Sound)
What's this house and kids jargon? What about a 39 year old all kinds of music groupie who spends all his time and money on CDs, records, cassettes, road trips, plane and concert tickets. Classified or still unacceptable? I'm perplexed by your judgement of anybody attempting to get into any kind of music at any time. One part I do agree with, somewhat, it's a little silly when older cats use young kids' slang terms. In my day, at least in my neighborhood, when something was sick, that meant bad. So I've never used that one. That would be pathetic.

Chrundle The Great reacted to Shelby in Soon? The Mars Volta
Yeah it makes sense now. You're just a casual. Not trying to be a dick or anything but you're right and I do just listen to way more music than you. There's probably not enough time in a year to spin my collection, but that's OK I'm not in the mood for certain things for years. Sucks moving but I'd rather be prepared.

its weird to me to hear TMV called inconsistent, considering the output we get from so many over-the-hill bands these days, most of which should have called it quits a decade ago. and i don't agree that most TMV fans vastly prefer deloused and FTM, especially when compared to the reception of other bands' full discographies. its certainly not been my experience when talking to other fans. not trying to be the used superfan guy (and im certain that my avatar will disqualify my viewpoint), but all of these albums are appreciated. thats actually extremely rare, and rather consistent for a 21st century band, id say.
