I want to replace my Pale Horses Deluxe far more than Untitled so Pale Horses wins biggest fiasco. Not to mention the actual variant color is so bad. Untitled is the nicest box in my collection and it was only $60 they could have taken all the time in the world and I'd still be fine with it.

I still need to go back and figure out which one was worse, the Untitled Collectors Fiasco or Pale Horses. I recall that one taking like a year, then they shipped most people (myself included) two copies of Side A/B. So they sent a care package with Side C/D, and a piece of paper that had the correct Dorothy lyrics on it. You were supposed to glue that down over the misprint, but I found it funnier to not replace it. All in, took about 1.5 years to get a correctly packaged copy.

I like the variants we got, honestly it had been so long that I'd forgotten what the mockup was and just assumed it was aubergine & ice.
Echoing this sentiment--part of the reason I've been doing rips on all these is because they're so drastically improved. The AB reissue a few years ago for the anniversary tour (1LP) was confirmed to use a CD master as source material, so based on how different each 1LP and 2LP has sounded to my ears, I've been running on the assumption most of the 1LPs (at least the older albums) use CD masters slightly modified for the medium and the 2LPs are dedicated remasters with higher dynamic range from whatever best source is available.  

Yeah, can we also pretend there's an issue with the Brother Sister boxes so they can repress those colour variants so I can buy one? Looks more like a #20 than a #21 y'know!

It builds on what the band was trying to do with Omens but it’s just better. If you’re not wanting a prog heavy record you’ll likely be disappointed. You’ll still find some good grooves and riffs here but there’s a lot going on including elements of post rock and krautrock but the turns sound seamless in every track. The vocals which at times sounded a little off on Omens are also much improved. This might be my favorite record from them.

Yes, the difference is massive. These are some of the best sounding records I own. Detail, dynamic range, and presence are all far above their 33 counterparts.

The breakdown in One Light Retreating at 5:40 is epic.

I like it definitely their mellowest album, but in no way a huge departure from earlier work. I would say it is probably most similar to Lore. The end of Halcyon rules hard

I felt the same way when the first single came out, and I feel it holds true now that the project is out in full. Not that I thought the vocals were really lacking on previous records, but I sense an improvement here. 

This album is definitely growing on me with each listen. I'm not bothered at all by the vocals, in fact, I think they're a slight improvement over previous albums. I like the proggy elements they've added as well, it's nice Elder can continue to still sound like themselves but also evolve and not get stale. Looking forward to when my vinyl copy arrives.

I just saw this new Elder song and was pumped up! Pressed play and turned up the volume. I had to do a double take and check to make sure I was indeed listening to Elder when the vocals came on. It's not that they are bad, just not the same as before. Actually I feel the vocals might be a improvement as I always thought Elders vocals where the weakest link in the band. 
The music is great in this new track. The addition of keyboards worked well. The song established a nice groove that builds over time and makes some cool movements. I think it's going to be a great album.
