  1. I'll second the Swellers - Running Out... and add a couple: Living With Lions - Dude Manor (it's seriously criminal this hasn't been mentioned yet) The Great Explainer - The Way Things Swell (Chunksaah)
  2. I'm with you, and it doesn't even sound like this exclusive will be worth the price of physical ownership at all. Maybe not even digital...
  3. Got my translucent orange yesterday, and it sounds fantastic. Scored a copy of their first album on Discogs as well. I wish I had heard it when it came out. It's almost as good as this.
  4. I listened to the stream because of Dying Scene and loved it. I already ordered the orange and about to pick up their first LP as well. Stoked to have a new awesome band with this sound. They remind me of Lock and Key and maybe Carpenter too.
  5. Finally got a chance to listen to the Oslow LP. Good stuff. Comes out to $33.50 shipped for me. Not sure if I want to bite yet...
  6. Any chance of a "burning bush" splatter variant of, say, a Stavesacre album? Or maybe "Easter tomb boulder" gray with white marble? The possibilities are endless!
  7. Glad to see Lions getting their due! Meant to post these guys forever ago. It's of the slower emo variety but I fucking love it. https://peregrinema.bandcamp.com/releases
  8. I had no clue that apparently S1D is the American refuge for Australian rock bands. Why they haven't signed Luca Brasi yet (No Idea heads should probably check them out at least), those bands' Aus labelmates, is beyond me. I didn't end up finding anything I wanted, but thaNks so much for the follow up post with the labels sorted out.
  9. I'm hoping for less of a tank job than the new De La, but with Elton John and Jack White on the guest list, I'm not hopeful.
  10. Just me & B-dosia paying attention to the real hip-hop as usual. Just scored a black. Fucking love this album. "Miami Life" belongs on any Best of 90's Hip-Hop mix, and Ras is easily the most underappreciated lyricist of the last 30 years in any genre.
  11. Fatbeats.com 20% off store wide with code "FREEDOM" It doesn't say exactly when it ends. So stoked to finally have secured a copy of the new Elzhi record. #lyricism
  12. Yeah, you're probably right, and I didn't necessarily mean selling poorly overall, just at SRC. Even with an over-order, I'm still surprised. Seems like most stuff that ends up in their sale section is >6 months old at least. Oh well, either way hopefully some lagging VCers can get a deal now.
  13. SRC has this up for $18.99 now in their sale section. I haven't bought yet (never really warmed up to it, it's down there at the bottom of the list with SNW & Adrenaline for me), but I admit that price has me thinking hard about it. It's really surprising to me that they'd mark it down at all, and especially so early on. I would assume that means it's not selling well...
  14. SO much this. "Sell My Old Clothes..." is so fantastic.
  15. If this is a single LP as the MusicDirect page suggests, I hope it's an EP as I can't imagine a gates full-length being abusively crammed onto a single LP...unless they gave in to label themes and made a 30-min pop-punk album.
  16. Oh man, I had skipped over this thread so many times but tonight it caught my eye and I had a sneaking suspicion this had gone to shit based on Chris' past behavior. So sorry to you guys that bought this. After the Handsome debacle I vowed to never buy from NS again. If The Things We Think... weren't such a great album that I just had to own a copy of (and at $10 a couple months ago, it was too good to pass up), I would've stuck to that completely. All in all, I'm fairly glad to see they might be on their way out. Just makes me appreciate labels like Topshelf even more.
  17. Thanks so much, man. I'm looking forward to getting it that much more now.
  18. Thanks for the info. I just may go for a black. Does the vinyl have any more punch than the mp3s? I know the production is largely responsible for the lack of that but I'm hoping the vinyl doesn't just sound flat.
  19. Hey all, I'm really feeling this album after it grew on me, and I'm planning on picking up a copy. It looks like it'll be about $23 ppd from MerchNow, but I wanted to off up to anyone who bought it and doesn't like it to take a slight loss and sell it to me for the same ppd price. Just PM me if you're interested. I'll wait a few days and place an order if nobody shouts out. Thanks!
  20. So much this. Firstly, I've loved what TSR has done with (re)pressing old records like Pneuma and The Medicine. And secondly, I owned 2 copies of TRP at one point but had to turn them into profit while living on a shoestring budget during my mid-30s return to full time college. Hardest sales I've ever had to let go of. I'd love to own it again to crank "She Runs The Ride" up to 10 like I used to. Sadly I couldn't get down with anything after that album.
  21. I wish it came with a poorly "scored" kitchen cabinet door that I could try to put friends' heads through to no avail. R.I.P. Uncle Bill
  22. I have my pink copy up for $16 on Discogs, but that's mainly because of the cut they take. At this point, I'd go $14 shipped media mail to VCer in the U.S. Get at me.
