Moral of the story: Don't sell your grails, folks

I have a lost grail that was sold years ago, following for the feel-good story ending

I’m gonna go back to old fashioned mail order, cash only through the mail, you’ll get your record in 4-6 weeks
holy shit, this brought me back to my year 2000 eBay days. I vividly remember sending MO through the mail

I bought mine originally to use with a VOX guitar amplifier which eliminated the dirty noise immediately. I've always used it with my Marantz TT amp so I don't really have a before/after to compare personally

I've considered adding a power conditioner to plug everything into, but I'm not convinced those things actually do anything
I would do this before anything else
I've got this one: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/534413-REG/Furman_M_8X2_M_8x_Merit_Series_8.html/?ap=y&ap=y&smp=y&smp=y&lsft=BI%3A514

Flipping is now less profitable, I guess some will be happy about that

That does suck and I feel for him but holy shit, personal boomer moment on my end, I guess – when I get something absurdly damaged in the mail, my first thought is never to ask my girlfriend / friend / family to film myself with a nonplussed facial expression, then cut to the package, and add a quirky indie bop in the background for a spicy bruh moment on social media. As someone who doesn’t fuck with Instagram that much (or TikTok at all), is this a real thing people do often? I thought everyone just demanded a refund and then bitched about the experience on forums.
I would also bet a decent sum of money that he already opened the record and just decided to fold the empty mailer for the clout

So many great points in all the posts above,@IndigoHollowprobably summed it up best.
From my own personal experience in collecting the past 15 years and becoming stressed out about many of the same things you are, here are some things that helped me more recently:
- I try to keep my collection under 500 records, this is my own personal comfortability threshold, physically & financially. I don't want to deal with 20 Kallax units worth of records. As I approach the 500 number in order to justify buying more, I've got to sell 10-20 to make room. Usually by that point, its pretty easy to find a few to weed out as I get tired of them
- I used to be so worried about "resale value" and keeping them pristine. I had poly sleeves for every record and each time id take one out to play it was such a process. I threw them all out one day and said fuck it, if I'm gonna enjoy it I'm gonna enjoy it. If some asshole wants to buy one of my records down the line he'll get some wear, whatever. This decision has helped my personal enjoyment immensely
Good luck, hope you find what you're looking for.

If I understand it correctly all PayPal/Venmo/cash app totals over $600 for goods and services get reported to the irs now.
So any PayPal transactions through discogs or eBay will now be reported to the IRS on a 1099.
any thoughts?

Am I the only one that is fed up with so many preordered albums. I am new to the hobby and have a lot of orders that keep getting pushed back! I would rather them put them up for sale when they are in hand. Sorry if this is an old topic of frustration for vinyl community.

It’s absolutely made me scale down my preorders. It makes it a lot easier to determine what is a necessary buy and what isn’t. If I really enjoy it, I’ll buy it closer to release. And I feel bad contributing to the buildup sometimes lol
Same, I actually had this and a few other Owen variants in my cart totaling $60 and eventually just logged out. I’m fine just waiting on the pink when the time comes
