Anyone else besides me pick the Wild to win the first round?
Glad to see Parise and Pominville finally score some goals. Granlund has been fantastic. Moving him to the first line was a great decision.

paintedinexile got a reaction from verb1999 in Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) | Have you signed up?
Eventually got through the site, but ended up saying fuck it, and pay the penalty. Affordable health care my ass. My cheapest policy had a premium of over $150, and the deductible was $6500. I haven't been to the doctor in years, and am in good health. I'm willing to take the chance that something serious doesn't happen, than have to try and pay for something I can't afford at the moment. My girlfriend and I are barely getting by as it is. If I was older, and wasn't as healthy if probably sign up. But I don't see the point when I won't get any benefit out of it. I'll just pay out of pocket if I absolutely have to go.
Wasn't this bill supposed to help younger people like me get cheap health care? Not to mention I have heard a few people here get denied because of the coverage they got through the website. I'll pay the penalty this year, and then maybe sign up when the re-enrollment period opens up at the end of the year again.

    01. I don't care enough to go back and tally up the votes if there are any.  So, what? - did two people in total vote for Brand New records?  Whatever number it was, it was super miniscule and deceptive of the love the band gets on these boards.  And honestly, even if there was a split between Deja and TDAG, I think fans would be able to make up their mind enough to vote for one or the other.  It'd make more sense for there to be multiple votes for each, respectively, instead of a "draw" where no one voted for either.

    Also, *Derek.

    02. You probably shouldn't talk down on someone's music library or preferences without providing your own.  It's a petty thing to do, and gives your argument about as much credibility as a troll's.

    03. Obviously debatable, and you're entitled to your own opinion, but I think for as polarizing and out there as Daisy can be, it's significantly more interesting from a musical standpoint.  Power chords and breakup lyrics are pretty run-of-the-mill.

Especially if the Sixers buy out Granger's contract, and signs with the Heat like some are saying might happen. I guess he's pissed about being traded to the Sixers. What better way to stick it to your previous team, than by joining your competitor?

Haha, thank you.  I was scratching my head at seeing "chill" and "mathcore" together in the topic title.

    BLUE SKY BLACK DEATH
    NOIR
BSBD are an "instrumental hip-hop" duo from San Francisco.  I stumbled across them a couple of years ago - particularly their album NOIR - and have been sold ever since.  They tie in solid hip-hop beats with lush synths and dreamy instrumentation.  They also like to include samples and the occasional vocals -- usually in the form of a choir for that added sense of harmony.

    TYCHO
    Dive
As 77satelites mentioned, Tycho is an excellent choice.  Graphic artist turned music producer, also based out of San Francisco.  He'll be dropping a new album next month... but in the meantime, you really need to check out his last full length, Dive.  It's cool.  It's calm.  It's chill.  Open the windows and get a breeze before checking this out.

    BOARDS OF CANADA
    The Campfire Headphase
If you're unfamiliar with BOC, we need to fix this immediately.  The Scotland brothers are a staple in the world of electronic / ambient / downtempo, and have accumulated a cult following through the albums they've released over the years.  Their music is as soothing as it is haunting, for me, and that's just a fraction of their charm.  Perfect for late night studies, or drifting off to sleep.

A WINGED VICTORY FOR THE SULLEN
A Winged Victory for the Sullen
If you've never tried falling asleep to the sounds of soothing ambient, you're doing it wrong.  Trust me on that.  AWVFTS is one member from ambient-kingpins Stars of the Lid - who are also a fantastic choice - and one composer by the name of Dustin O'Halloran.  I don't know how familiar you are with ambient; it can seem a little dry or mundane at first, but I think it's an extremely beautiful genre once you get the ear for it.  In a very real sense, I sometimes feel like the minimalism just accentuates and intensifies every component of the music.  Each sustain and piano stroke just packs a much heavier punch, if that makes any sense.  Anyway.  I chose the video below because even if the music bores you to tears, I still think it's an incredible visual experience.

I could probably go on for days about similar artists and sub-genres.  But this should be enough to soothe your nerves for the time being.
