ratbrain
As of August 1st, we'll be raising the price of our vinyl records. LPs will be $13 , EPs $12 and 7"s will be $5. CD, DVDs and digital prices will stay the same. http://www.dischord.com/news/575/2014/6/new-vinyl-pricing-as-august-1st $2 more per LP isn't a big deal, and in fact this seems long overdue. just noticed it on their website and thought it was worth mentioning. stock up on those sweet $11 albums while you can. somethingvinyl
Yeah. I think they've done their best to keep stuff in print and affordable. But they have to change when costs rise. I sure as hell wish Dischord was running these boards. bowserhound

ratbrain
Care to make some recommendations? I like psych, shoegaze, garage, new wave, kraut rock i'm mostly just familiar with their older post-hardcore staples (Fugazi, Nation of Ulysses, Jawbox), not sure how much they have that fits into those genres but hopefully someone else can point you in the right direction. mitchard
Not any of those genres, but Lungfish rule. Its too bad most of their releases that I want are out of stock right now. Might have to grab the few that are in stock.
deletedunknown
Care to make some recommendations? I like psych, shoegaze, garage, new wave, kraut rock After Nation of Ulysses, Ian Svenonius has been mostly in garage styled bands like Make Up and Chain & the Gang. Really if you like punk/hardcore at all and don't know at least half of the early 80s releases, you don't actually know hardcore. I like psych, shoegaze, garage, new wave, kraut rock I have also thought that these few below are really underrated.. (really melodic and close to fugazi in sound) http://www.dischord.com/release/089/lurid-traversal-of-rte-7 http://www.dischord.com/release/098/until-the-eagle-grins http://www.dischord.com/release/116/join-us-2 http://www.dischord.com/release/101/dischord-no-101 http://www.dischord.com/release/119-5/the-aesthetics-of-no-drag some (most of it) is out of print but you can still find it online somewhere. Requiescat
Might as well pick up some more Fugazi records. I don't mind the price hike though. Discord has always been one of the few consistently reasonably priced labels.

David Loyd
Truly great company. Ill gladly pay a few more bucks for their stuff. I've been waiting for the Rites Of Spring record to come back in stock for what seems like a year now. Maybe a new repress on colored vinyl is coming? That's my hope anyway. Just recently purchased a few new Jawbox reissues, the last Evens record, and the two Channels records that arctic rodeo released from them.
