Derek™
No Devotion* Dammit. I feel like it's not the first time I've made that mistake. I blame this guy; No Devolucion -----> No Devotion
cwhitmuzik
The nostalgia factor plays a big part in the way I would rank Thursday's albums. I like all of them though, and do thoroughly enjoy the way they progressed. I also like this new project quite a bit, although I admittedly would have probably been stoked for a more obvious blend of the lostprophets sound with Geoff's vocals. From everything I know of Geoff, he's just an absolutely brilliant guy, especially when it comes to music. He really knows his shit. I can't imagine where Thursday would have gone after No Devolucion, but I know it would have been amazing. THE_James_Champ
birdturbo
No Devo > WAAT > ACBTLD > Full Collapse > Common Existence > Waiting. boom. this is the only correct ranking
Vince Ives
I'm into this. I was a huge fan of all the big synths on ACBTLD, and the vocals are just far back enough to remind me of No Devolucion. I love the vocals on the latter, it's like Geoff is haunting the songs rather than taking a prominent role in them.
cwhitmuzik
this is the only correct ranking Thanks baby. I'll also accept ACBTLD over WATT but I still haven't dug deep enough into the subtle brilliance behind that record. rooks
No Devolucion -----> No Devotion Came here to say this haha. Always beating me to the punch barkinglot.
mrewest
I couldn't get into post-WATT Thursday as much simply for the echo on Geoff's voice on every record after that one. It took away from the powerfulness of it. Was always a distraction. I liked the albums, just never came close to touching the perfect WATT imo. chefchino
That indie sound threw me off hard coming from them. Listened to it again without the expectations and I really liked it. Not 15ppd worth but I'd probably risk it on a full length.
Guest
This is the worst vanity project i've heard since Cold Cave
runforcover
Full Collapse is really overrated. They really expanded their sound and atmosphere after that record. I can't imagine someone thinking that who wasn't either too old, or too young to appreciate it when it came out. THE_James_Champ
somber_silt
Full Collapse is really overrated. They really expanded their sound and atmosphere after that record. Of course, they expanded their sound afterwards and still put out great records; yet, Full Collapse is everything but overrated. On topic: "Stay" is incredibly catchy. I really like it. steviex2shoes
Just saying the melody of this song sounds almost identical to Maps by Yeah Yeah Yeahs agaetisbyrjun
jdtg
I can't imagine someone thinking that who wasn't either too old, or too young to appreciate it when it came out. Completely agree with this. I should give No Devolution some more spins though I don't mind the synth-pop No Devotion is bringing but I don't think I'll be backing it. Why is this a 12"? Make it a 7 and half the price
cwhitmuzik
I can't imagine someone thinking that who wasn't either too old, or too young to appreciate it when it came out. I didn't listen to or even hear of then until 08 or 09 so...hahahI respect that it was a game changing record for the scene but I think they just bettered it throughout their career, and that nostalgia still keeps people hailing it as their best even when I think it really isn't close. danionly
I am torn on this. I enjoy Geoff's voice and his other projects, but this is just a little too 80's synth-pop sounding for me. In case anyone would like to know, they have this streaming on Spotify.
veggiecorecords
I love Geoff but there's no way he wrote the lyrics for this. That interview someone posted states otherwise. THE_James_Champ

dvv
I'm enjoying this a lot. The post punk/synth pop 80s vibes really make this song stand out. The ex guys of lostprophets really needed this.
Guest
i'd be more pumped if these guys started a rap-rock group like Lost Prophets. At least then it'd be intentionally terrible

Because I still liked radio rock as recently as 07, I'm definitely found this scene far, far later than most. cemeterytapes
