Oh yeah, that reminds me. I ended up with a spare Life is Strange record. I'll give it away on here soon, once i work out how to do it fairly.

(Please don't PM me asking for the record - when I give it away, I want to make sure that everyone has a shot)

Do you have any informations about other copies available/pressings in the future ?

That would be sweet. A friend of mine loves the OST for Ori, and I didn't really "get" it until I played the game recently. It's genuinely brilliant though.

I guess with the Deluxe version (or whatever it's called) being out now, and the awards the OST has won it's gotta happen soon...

I posted this in the Cassette Collective forum, but thought it might interest some of you in here:

It's the soundtrack to an upcoming 8bit mobile game called Chrome Death by synthwave mainstay VHS Glitch.

The limited tape is at the above link, but that page also links to the digital release. Enjoy!

Yeah, somebody somewhere mentioned Microsoft had a vinyl project they were working on and the assumption is that it's Ori, I mean, what else do they really have that hasn't hit vinyl yet? Right? It's gotta be. I pray that it is. Seriously, I'm desperate for this...

Ah man, I don't have a tape player or I'd consider that. I get that it's the latest rage (because it's so cheap to produce really), but I literally have no way to play tapes so they have no appeal to me personally. Cool though. Now if that had been on 4-Track Reel...

Novu Records sent out an update that they're now legally licensed for business, meaning they can now seek licenses.

Anybody else find it strange they announced they were seeking rights to albums before even being licensed as a business? This concerns me that they have little or no previous experience and that they are going to put out a poor product, or that's it's just another cash grab. If they get a product out at all, that is.

Thoughts?

I don't want to sound like a cynic, but I'll believe it when I see it.

^^^

I will bet you they had never even reached out to Squeenix or Konami back when they were claiming that they were going to release those records. And they're going to need more than a licensed company name to get the rights to soundtracks on those IPs.

I forgot you posted that, but pretty much my thoughts exactly. They may find a small indie game to release, but just starting out with no previous track record they're not likely to get far with any big company unless there's more to this than meets the eye (which I doubt).

I was curious about who was pressing the records for the Hotline Miami OST, so I reached out to the guys running the Kickstarter. This is what they had to say:

We have spent the last 6 months putting this project together and will be pressing at one of the best plants/if not the best plan in Europe called Optimal. We have a specialist vinyl mastering engineer working on the mastering too.

We got the artists to send us WAV files of the tracks for us to re-master.

We believe that it will all sound and look amazing. :)

The set is definitely on the pricey side, but if they're being pressed at Optimal at least we shouldn't have much to worry about with regards to the quality of the records themselves.

Square Enix currently have a 20% off sale going on. Anyone who's been on the fence about the FF7 or FF8 picture discs, or the Chrono Trigger/Cross soundtracks because of the price may want to take a look.

FF7 seems to be nowhere on the site and Chrono is on backorder :(
