Especially in this case because you actually do repeatedly bring up that you think all cops are bastards, etc and then group something you're very serious about with something that is self-parody. Linking together two completely different tones in the same statement makes the self-parody not read as such. I contain multitudes and my posts are art. ACAB is different because all cops are part of the same broken system. So even if you show me a truly stand up good guy cop, he's still a bastard. Good cops need to take a stand against corruption and bigotry inherent in the system they're a cog in, but they won't and some would argue they can't. The cult of brotherhood between cops protects and reinforces the broken system they're employed to enforce. Take that football player guy (on the...49ers? Last name starts with a K?) who excercised his right of free speech. The police, who are supposed to...you know..stand for our rights, threatened to stop providing security for the team's games because he didn't stand up for the national anthem. How is that anything other than blatantly spitting on what our country is supposed to stand for? That's fascism. They threatened the same after Beyonce did that music video. Cops think refusing to do their job after being criticized is acceptable.

BuzzersonKillwell
I doubt we are even that far apart but blanket statements like that are, in my opinion, reductionist to a fault. This raises my ire. Any, or most, modalities are subject to exploitation or misuse by bad actors, either by direct manipulation or ineptitude. There are negatives and positives to socialism and examples of both in contemporary governance. The free market is a great at using innovation to increase efficiency, and that is, generally speaking, a positive. But there are plenty of examples where that has a negative impact on either the consumer or the job market. Either through the direct loss of jobs or the reduction in compensation within a given sector or vertical. I think the government has an important role to play in protecting citizens from bad corporate actors, especially in situations where the market wouldn't or wouldn't correct quickly enough. Essentially, areas where the profit motive isn't aligned with outcomes that benefit the population at large. This is not an endorsement of our current government or practices, which I think we can all agree has routinely failed us. That, to me, doesn't mean that role shouldn't exist, but rather, it is currently being poorly executed. I do think some kind of mixed economy is the best approach. Does this work or did you want to cherry-pick evidence to support my point? I'm not a huge fan of selective observation but I know how to do it. stl_ben

No, because unlike yourself I would have rather had a constructive conversation then be a mega douche with an awful sense of humor. In other words, I'd rather not discuss anything with you at all if you're going to be a dick about it. With that being said you're definitely not giving property rights enough credit. People tend to not be "bad actors" when they have incentives to do otwrwise. I.E. Not corrupting profitable land via waste dumping and potentially violating a neighbor's property in the process. I digress, you and I don't need to discuss this any further. I legitimately don't care what you have to say otherwise.
BuzzersonKillwell
Man, see, this makes me wish I didn't delete my first sentence because I thought it was a bit too personal an attack and would negate the rest of the post. Which was something along the lines of rarely bother replying to you because almost anytime the conversation moves beyond curt dismissive statements you fallback on memes or disengage anyway. But a little more snarky because internet point. I've taken to calling you Scooby Rambo in my head. "Ruh-roh Raggy, someone wheally replied. BuzzersonKillwell
This is some vintage Rambo shit right here. You love you some false attribution . It was initially any honest attempt at conversation, admittedly, with some sarcasm. It became more about how you complain about the lack of constructive conversations and then nope the fuck out of most attempts. As you continue to showcase here. If you don't want to engage, fine. That's cool, I never expected it anyway. When the going gets tough the Shitty Rambo rarely gets going. But then again, what do I know. I'm white or something I guess? I suppose it's irrelevant anyway, we are voting for the same candidate.
