Pokemon Go

Recommended Posts

Inside my office is a hot spot for Pokemon. Been telling friends to bring their kids by since there are 2-3 at all times and the restock the spot instantly. The best catch was a CP249 Zobat but we've had some other rare ones. There is simply too much in Manhattan, it made the game thrilling for a day and dull the next due to overabundance.

See, I see stuff like this:

And it's discouraging. This guy happens to live near a Dratini spawn. I live near Doduo spawn and work in a Zubat factory. Just disheartening to catch 50+ Zubats and Doduos a day. It's boring. I'll probably be sick of this game in less than a week.

I've also been playing since before launch (sideloaded the APK) and have yet to battle at a Gym because maybe the 2 or 3 times I was way out of my usual area and I was near one the server always decided to crap out mid-battle.

You need to come to Manhattan. There are gyms all over. I just got to L5. I did all the legwork so my six year old can now play. I am fairly bored of it already but it's not meant for me anyway. He's jazzed to get his hands on it.

I work in Midtown 2 blocks from the Empire State building.

Problem is, it's a two block walk and the 3 times I've tried the server crashes when I get there lol.

Plus - the gyms are really where you generate items from, because you get gold from them for each day your pokemon stay there. Issue is, even if the servers decided to be nice, the ESB (2 blocks) and Bryant Park (3 blocks + 1 avenue) gyms (the 2 closest to me throughout my daily routine) are probably the most hotly contested gyms in the entire game. Would be tough to stand a chance at keeping any pokemon in there for an extended amount of time ;)

Eh someday I'll get it haha most of the gyms in Manhattan are held by 1000CP+ Gyrados or Eeveelutions. I like the collecting aspect of the game and all, my girl and I are having fun with it. But, the gamer in me craves some kind of advantage or progress aside from catching my 50th zubat for the experience points haha.

I hear ha. I'm up to 52 actual different Pokemon so far and the collecting is a big part for me. Taking gyms yesterday was super cool though. On lunch I'm going down to fortify a gym nearby work.

Mine has never updated since launch and it's listed as up-to-date on my installed list. Weird

same

I never played any pokemon growing up (I always thought I was too old for it) but I'm loving this, people are out walking around my town and interacting (Dave's shaun gif is still funny though)

will I get sick of it? maybe, but for now I think its great
