3arl
Good for them. It was going to sell out regardless of whether it was priced at $10 or $30. I would rather these two bands get more cash than flippers. unwound and toxicity
paintedinexile
As much as I'd love this, I'm out. Can't justify the price for it. And I'm sure flippers will still buy this and make at least twice what they paid for it.

steviex2shoes
Yeah, I think I'm getting it regardless. I'll regret it later on if I don't when I see if it for $100 on ebay.
daegor
That's stupid high, but I'm not passing this off, I love that Thrice cover and I love everything O'Brother (I'm actually indifferent on MO). I may sell one of these as a BIN at a price to offset the bloated price being that I was expecting closer to $20ppd, we'll see...
abovetheearth
honest question. why not regret it for the fact that you might not get it...not that it went for 2.5 times what you paid for it.

jhulud
I wish more people would be honest and just say "I am buying multiple copies because I plan to flip the shit outta them cuz I know they're gonna be selling like hot cakes and I want to gets paid mad money from collectors who missed out thanks to flippers like me! daegor
flip flop Yeah, I know, but I don't want to pay more than $20 all in for ~22 minutes of music. If I'm able to get 4 or more then I might take one and put up for a BIN of say... $45? Still low, but offsets the cost of the one I keep to something halfway reasonable

shat
so it goes from buying extras for the boards mainly to keep them out of the hands of flippers to buying extras to flip on ebay in a matter of hours just because of the outrageous price. stay classy VC. spoonbill
this thread: people complaining about $30 12" circle takes the square thread: people defending band for charging $30 for a 2xlp per unit cost is not that different.

Correction, it goes to one person saying that they might sell one one eBay for a reasonable markup If the demand is super high and tones of people here are shafted I'll just eat the high price. toxicity
also, is their any reason behind the bloated price besides of selfishness? 15 dollars per track. They know that a lot of these are going to end up on eBay for way more than $10, or even $30. They have no way of ensuring these will end up in the hands of their fans who will actually want the music. I applaud the bands for taking the piss out of flippers and making a few bucks on these for themselves. I'm still going to try and snag one for myself, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it if I don't get one.
tevyekarch
I am still in for this! Hopefully the price scares away a lot of people so I have a better chance of getting one. I am just glad they are not saving this for a RSD release.

Derek™
I just received confirmation that I'll be working when these go up, unfortunately. Same debate was had in the Third Man Records thread. There are points for each side. It's a difficult issue to tackle. If this were made more affordable, say $15, then flippers would have improved margins and more people could potentially flip since the price is more accessible. With the $30 price tag, it may scare away some potential flippers and lower how much they profit and so people who really want this and actually get it will only have to pay double the reasonable price rather than triple or quadruple or more. Plus the band, who really deserves the money rather than flippers, will be making more money, which I am in full support of. So overall I think it's better to raise the price a little, but that's just my opinion.
