dave_jones
My buddy's band Kid Jerusalem. They just put 2 new demos up on their soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/kidjerusalem I recommend the Bad Circles demo and I Made Myself. Some acoustic videos (naked session): I don't agree much with the STD comparison in the description. I never really know who to compare them to but i'll just throw these out there...RIYL: Coheed, Weatherbox, Balance & Composure. If you dig, you can download their EP for free on bandcamp: http://kidjerusalem.bandcamp.com/
caffiend
One of my favorite local bands from Jacksonville, FL is called Honey Chamber. They have are a great full on rock band. The bass player is killer. Another band I love is called A Selfless Lot. I might be biased, though. I play guitar in this band. But, I do think we are good and I listened to all of these songs before I was even in the band. We've gotten compared to Modest Mouse and The Replacements before, if that gives you an idea of what we sound like.

mssskat184
Muncie(ish area), Indiana.I know we used to have a ton of great bands, but once a lot of the bands that I liked/was friends with split, I stopped going to shows as much as I used to. I do know we still have: Mapmaker: http://mapmakerindy.bandcamp.com/releasesForeveratlast: (They actually kind of don't count because they just got signed to Victory, but they're a great band and deserve more listens. Also probably some of the nicest people I know!) Burn the Army: http://burnthearmy.bandcamp.com/album/the-tide-to-sink-the-summit A few bands not together anymore, but are still worth checking out:And the Sky Will Burn: Refractions: http://refractions.bandcamp.com/Ghost of Maine: http://ghostofmaine.bandcamp.com/track/we-all-float-down-here Creating Constellations: Someone from Indy should chime in, we've got a pretty big local scene and I'm sure I'm forgetting people/there's stuff I haven't heard. brettwilks
I thought about making a separate post, but this seems like a good place for this. Kissed by an Animal is one of my favorite bands in Brooklyn, and their debut album is getting released on vinyl by Handstand Records soon. You can see a review of the album and there's a place to listen to the album here or listen on Spotify. Favorite track: Right Now The lead singer/guitarist, Dima Drjuchin is probably best known as an artist, most notably for doing the album cover for Father John Misty's Fear Fun. While the official release will be out on Handstand Records soon, Dima is selling 10 test pressings here, complete with hand drawn covers and labels - each one is unique. They're admittedly not cheap, but it's a great record with really cool hand drawn album art, so I thought some of you may be interested in listening and taking a look. I purchased #8/10 myself!
