dethrock
i'm guessing that tim armstrong called pirates press with some sort of box set in mind, but since no one can understand what he says, they confused his original idea for an awesome 46 7" box set + baseball bat package. Haha this seriously made my day. Thank you spoonbill.
adamlikesmusic
An LP box set would've been cool, but this is just ridiculous.
xlovecolouredx
look incredible. price is reasonable but the shipping fee to me is really terrible....
AlexH.
I don't think Thom Yorke would ever let Radiohead be involved in this big of a cash grab. Then again, Capitol does own all the old albums, so I guess it could happen. That ridiculous series of 12 12" singles happened, with tiny art for like $15 each. Guest
^There are like rows of those and the remix 12"s at every record store I go to. It is obnoxious.

Every time I see the Radiohead divider card, I think "oh yeah, I've been meaning to get Amnesiac", and I pull back the records in front and those stupid singles stare back at me as if to say "nooooope". jvphotoandvideo
I wouldn't even blame Pirates Press if they stumbled onto this thread and just canceled the release and gave everyone refunds, unless they're really selling a good portion of these. If that's the case, then every person who bought this deserves to flip 45s forever.
flood
i love rancid. i love box sets. and even i couldnt pull the trigger one something this ridiculous.
moodydan
I think it's funny that people are referring to this as a "cash grab." I know they have their own pressing plant, but unless they're going to press these to order with a limit of 2000 or whatever it is, it just seems like they can't possibly turn a profit on this type of release. Pirates does make good stuff though, so you know the packaging and presentation will be top notch. I've got enough records that just sit on my shelf, so I'm with the majority here and gonna take a pass. I've got all the Rancid records and 7"s anyway, but it would be nice to get some type of 'reasonable' box set.
xjustinxschwierx
this is something that 95% of the people who buy it, will not ever listen to every record in the set and after about 2 records will immediately regret buying it....I think it's safe to say Rancid just devalued their entire catalog...because these will hit every discount site and every dollar bin within 1-2 years. Yep, I would be surprised if buyers actually listened to the whole set even once. It's going to sit on a shelf and collect dust. I really dig 7" 45s and have a lot of them, but still don't listen to them as much as my 12" records.
jerseydave77
Breaking this into a series of 7"s created some magic: $100 worth of LPs just became $325 worth of 7"s. Amazing. I wouldn't even know where to put this. I like how Pirates tries new things but I didn't even hesitate in saying pass. hudsoncomplex

Emo Revival
Rancid signed some of them: https://www.facebook...&type=1 They've been a band for 20 years, and pressed a ton of stuff and still don't know that the plural of vinyl is vinyl... mmhmm

Good call, read it too fast and didn't catch the "on tour" part.
mclz
Got my bat last week and my records yesterday. I got the white and there was 1 red vinyl mixed in by accident which was pretty cool. My only problem is the 7" flexi, they said it was gonna be 2 cover songs, but it was only 1 and it was Sheena is a Punk Rocker, which is an already released song, but overall stoked to have it. headfirst! records
I thought this was really damn cool looking, when it got announced/info posted up... .....until I thought about it -- fuck having it broken down on 45s--I would have easily bought it if it were LPs or if it cost $100 or less silly release- still think it looks cool though

thomasj182
I just ordered the indestructible pack on white w/red splatter. I really love that album and figured why the fuck not. Even though I'm gonna regret it when I'm like "fuck now I have to flip/change the 45 to hear the next song" hahaha

romanos27
Is PP shipping slow? I ordered over two weeks ago and haven't gotten shit Yes, incredibly slow at times. I ordered an album two months ago and still haven't received it. And they've stopped responding to my emails, so I'm getting a little ticked now. Some folks seem to get stuff quickly, others end up waiting and waiting. I don't know what their issues are, but it seems to be a pretty poorly run operation. Copper87
I wanted to grab this, but I cant get past spending this much on a boxset, when I could just pick up the LPs although I knew Marc would be the first to order.
