youspinmeround
“Following the September/October issue, SPIN has halted publication of our print edition to invest more deeply in our digital properties, including SPIN.com, SPIN Play for iPad, and SPIN mobile. SPIN has been a pioneer in music journalism since 1985 and we hope you’ll continue to enjoy our leading editorial, photographic, and multi-media content online. Special arrangements have been made with alternative publishers to fulfill your SPIN print subscription for the remaining term: you will automatically receive your new magazine in the mail, with the option to ask for a full refund. We appreciate your patience during the transition of your subscription.”

3arl
That sucks. They were easily my favorite magazine.

jerseydave77
They lacked the diverse feature writers of a Rolling Stone to continue to stay relevant as a print publication in todays media market.
collectivemike
They lacked the diverse feature writers of a Rolling Stone to continue to stay relevant as a print publication in todays media market. True, plus they kept downsizing their actual content in lieu of more ads. It was a slow painful death.

videogamesandvinyl
I can appreciate web content but always enjoyed having he actual magazine in my possession.
jhulud
Damn. That sucks. I liked Spin. Read it frequently enough. More than RS, AltPress, and all the others.
ronniegwilliams
This was probably the only actual music based print magazine that I enjoyed. Pretty bummed about this. Guess I'll have to go back to buying Teen Beat. hudsoncomplex
chiefwahoo
I got two issues of Car and Driver in the mail today as a replacement for Spin. Which sucks because those are polar opposites of the spectrum for me. I'll read damn near anything but not a car magazine. But I didn't care much for the new oversized format without music reviews anyway. And it was dirt cheap, which is the only reason I subscribed at all. steventangent
Now what am I going to borrow off of the newsstand to take into the bathroom with me at work?
BuzzersonKillwell
They did a really nice job with their recent website redesign. There really is no reason for a publication like this to remain in print.
hudsoncomplex
I was looking for a Spin magazine to tea on the plane ride to Fest. I guess this explains why I couldn't find an issue anywhere. Bummer Spin was the only music magazine that I could read cover to cover.
youspinmeround
I started getting RS delivered a few months ago because it was like 20 bucks for the year. They have really diversified their news articles to more political and current events in addition to the music. The music they cover is still very mainstream, while trying to be cool to the trends. That aspect seems forced while SPIN always seemed to be the alternative source
cymbalism15
I like having the physical magazine, I'll be less likely to read online
nobodybrokeurheart
yeah fuck that noise. it's nice to disconnect from my digital devices for 40 damn minutes, sit in the coffee shop, and have a physical magazine in my hands to read. Spin was awesome for this.
