nothingnatural
Yeah, I was surprised how heavy the deluxe is. I ordered it as well as the indie version and the thin mailer seemed way overloaded. I don't really worry about corner damage or seam splits but surprisingly, they were in perfect condition despite the crumby mailer.
mcpherson123
My upper left hand corner had a bit of a smush. Kind of sucks but once I opened the gatefold I was able to push it back out a bit. Still looks a little weird. The cover texture and feel reminds me of that bullshit shaping frosting they use to make those boutique cakes that have no business being cakes. You know that stuff I'm talking about?
yancey47
Just one listen but I'm really really pleased. Very happy its pressed at 45 RPM. Also the deluxe version is totally worth it.
negavinyl
Having my first spin to the deluxe version this afternoon. Fucking amazing packaging, love the lyrics/illustrations. Go to put the 2nd LP on, nothing in the back jacket. No 2nd LP. Motherfucker. Honestly couldn't have happened to a worse record for me personally, I am fucking in love with this thing. You know, except for the not having the 2nd LP part. Anyone else experienced this??
morfiend
To those that bought both the deluxe 45 RPM and indie/regular editions, is there a big difference in sound? chasingbreakers

negavinyl
so you're saying the record is terrible? Ugh. No. You could have read the rest of the sentence and figured that out though. So I'm uncertain as to which is WORSE, my grammar, or your reading comprehension.
kjkenney
my gf picked this up at her work the other day. Just got done with the first disc and I am looovin it. chasingbreakers
To those that bought both the deluxe 45 RPM and indie/regular editions, is there a big difference in sound? I second this question. Trying to figure out which one to pickup.
kjkenney
the regular editions, non-deluxe, are also 45s. I haven't seen the deluxe discs in person, but as far as I'm aware the main difference is the packaging; book, et al.
rtw88
I assume he's asking because the Deluxe are 180 g whereas the others are not.
kjkenney
ah gotcha, forgot about that! in before the '180g doesn't make a difference in sound' debate. fwiw, the regular edition sounds fantastic.
negavinyl
To those that bought both the deluxe 45 RPM and indie/regular editions, is there a big difference in sound? Granted, I only have the first LP of the deluxe, but both the indie and deluxe sounded fantastic and I couldn't tell a significant difference between the two versions. The book is totally worth it in my opinion, but as far as difference in sound quality goes, it's minimal in my opinion.
kannibal
I assume he's asking because the Deluxe are 180 g whereas the others are not. I haven't heard where the regular edition was pressed. Was it also pressed at Pallas? if so, there should be NO difference in SQ. If it was pressed somewhere else there could be a difference in surface noise or if the cuts were done on site at the pressing plants they could sound different as well. Derek™
So for those of you who pulled the trigger on the deluxe copy: was that $42 price-tag mostly or totally worth it?
nothingnatural
So for those of you who pulled the trigger on the deluxe copy: was that $42 price-tag mostly or totally worth it? Personally, I think it's totally worth it but this is one of my favorite bands so I'm one of those idiots that will pay whatever is charged. serum7
So for those of you who pulled the trigger on the deluxe copy: was that $42 price-tag mostly or totally worth it? It was $48 at my local shop. For me that wasn't worth it. But I'm also a casual fan AND I like the blue artwork better. That book looks nice though.

No, only the Deluxe was pressed at Pallas. Furnace did the regular and indie versions. That's primarily why I'm wondering about how the SQ compares. kannibal
No, only the Deluxe was pressed at Pallas. Furnace did the regular and indie versions. That's primarily why I'm wondering about how the SQ compares. Furnace is Pallas US. Anything US released pressed by Pallas is done through Furnace, but Furnace doesn't always use Pallas. They also use Record Industry in The Netherlands. Ultimately it will depend where the cutting was done.

I went ahead and bought the indie version since I'm light on shelf space, but hopefully this will be useful to others.
