VC's definitive list of albums, A- Z (VOTING CLOSED)

As someone who really enjoys TWIABP and considers WATR a classic, I can't say I've ever listened to Murder By Death.  But you've got me intrigued.

It's a damn fine album. I've been listening to it for 10 years now, which is why I picked it over TWIABP. It edged out WATR by a bit because I have it on vinyl so I've been listening to it more often. I'd call them alt-country if that didn't make them sound super lame. I'd say at least check out the songs Devil in Mexico, Killbot 2000, and Until Morale Improves the Beatings Will Continue

Just curious, Derek, what are the other albums you're considering?

Off the top of my head?  Caspian's Waking Season, Deftones White Pony, Cave In's White Silence, and Isis' Wavering Radiant (though I doubt I'll vote for this, since I already used an Isis vote earlier).  I am positively forgetting about a few other strong contenders, too.

Damn... there are so many more good choices though. Modern Life Is War's "Witness," Deftones' "White Pony," Thursday's "War All The Time," Norma Jean's "Wrongdoers...."

What an impossible letter.

Being reminded of MLIW's Witness almost made me go back and change my vote. If I could stage dive every time I listened to that album it would have won.

WE ARE THE ROMANS!

Probably the best metallic hardcore/metalcore album I've heard.

Too many great W albums with so much influence. Unlike other influential albums, though, We Are the Romans pretty much punctuates their arm of a genre. This album has only been able to spawn imitators rather than be built upon further like other great albums. It's hard to say if Botch could have even topped themselves had they tried with another full-length, though I would have really liked to have seen them attempt it.
