Intelligent conversation? I think you dont know what intelligent conversation means. Had you just stated that you didnt like it then you might get a pass at your attempt at intelligent conversation, but thats not what you did. Don't flatter yourself that it was starting intelligent conversation.

common sense would dictate that intelligent conversation is a matter of opinion. don't flatter yourself by saying you have common sense.

:P

I suppose I could tell you that Chris has been doing this style of music on his solo cover album that came out in 2011, or that on The Wire Tapes which came out in 07 he did a few songs in a folk/country style and could make the case that Carry This Picture from 03 was very much in this style. Two of the three examples predate Mumford, and his solo album was released before Mumford had their second album out, so I wouldnt say he was chasing a fad when he has been doing it for over 10 years.

I'll give you a song or two on The Wire Tapes, but the acoustic/demo version of Carry This Picture For Luck sounds nothing at all like the new Mumfordy stuff. If anything, it fits well with the Drowning/Swiss Army era tunes. Any way, the whole Mumfordy indie-folk scene can go die in a fire. Definitely glad I didn't order this based on CC's name.

Does it have a banjo and floor stomps? no it doesnt. Does he play it with travis style picking and in a folk rhythm? Yes he does, which is different from how he played on Drowning and SWA and often used in this style of music
