FFS. My red tape arrived a while ago. I thought my /100 butterfly would be following really soon. 

Checked tracking today and it was 'delivered' on the 29th Oct. I was out all day, so someone in my block of flats must have answered and taken it or something. Much rather have lost the tape. 🥵

My first listen kinda just washed over me. Second listen I really felt like I enjoyed it more. It feels more like Intersections to me than Standards (which is a good thing as I thought Standards was a bit of a drop in quality, awesome drums aside) and is arriving at a perfect time of year coming into Autumn/Winter.
 
Oh, and the packaging is awesome. It's a proper bulky gatefold, and the BSM pressing came out beautifully.

Not saying it will or won’t happen but let’s not forget that Whirr wasn’t in charge of handling the pressing/shipping out of ANY of their previous records. Of course if a record label burns through a pressing and the demand for more exists then they are going to monetize that opportunity.  The band themselves are trolls and currently probably love that people are whining about missing out.

I don’t want to get too off topic but I’ll just say this: if I got rid of any records from bands that are jerks, I’d have a very small record collection. 

Really hope they keep it physical only.

Lighten up friendo.  The big draw with the CD right now is that - for the time being - it appears to be the hot commodity separating the majority of us from those who paid half a hundred bucks and got something more to show for it.  That is the perception.  Nobody wants to feel like they were left out – if I paid $50, you paid $50, and Joe-Shmoe paid $50, but Joe and I received additional content that you didn't, you wouldn't care at all?
 
Point two: your first post implied that this is a dime-a-dozen CD.  Which clearly isn't the case.  They're each individually unique in some minor way, because they're each hand-assembled and numbered.  Pretty cool for a band that's established a loyal, cultish following for the past 20 years and are (supposedly) on the verge of ending their run.
 
Point three.  Other people think that's pretty cool too, and are willing to pay $200-$400 for it. That alone makes it desirable to a lot of people, whether they plan to sell it or not.
