Tangentially related Iron & Wine stuff: was listening to the new single on Spotify and noticed the RSD release is available for streaming. If you didn't get a chance to pick it up, those 2 songs are definitely worth a listen!

Nothing As It Seems rules, actually one of my white whale songs that I'm hoping to hear at Wrigley 1. 

I finally got to listen to all of the demos today.  Some are definitely more listenable than others.  Does anyone else find the hissing a charming part of the demo or a little bit of an annoyance?  

To be fair Doby, weren't you complaining about DMB doing it poorly before Crash? You went off on the UTTD pressing. its nice that they course corrected though. 
 
I mean, yes, for a band that supposedly cares about vinyl, PJ could do things better ( though I'd argue that they have always cared more about vinyl for the aesthetic pleasures than the aural pleasures and that it was more of a nostalgic love because of the 90s and in subsequent decades, they started to care less about it today).

They recorded Pinkerton in Boston, at this time The Blue album was huge. Rivers went to Harvard, grew a beard and worked at a thrift shop called " The Garment District". He really didn't want to be famous and none of us recognized him because of his beard. My friends and I used to see him all the time at the store, walking around and hanging out in record stores. This was before the internet covered everything. It wasn't until Pinkerton came out that we all realized that the bearded weird dude who was always walking around was him. That's my story for the day.

Barcode scanner isn't going to be very accurate anyway. There's several albums with multiple presses with the same UPC in many cases
