It sounds like you're already doing what you can. The first thing I learned from my better half when she comes home upset is that I don't need to try and provide answers. More often than not it's fine to just be there when she's venting. Sometimes our instinct is to try and make everything better with solutions but they aren't always welcomed
 
The biggest thing she can do is keep her head up and try to be patient. Nobody should expect her to know everything just yet, so realize that she will get there in time. As for nobody knowing what she's supposed to be doing, hopefully she's ok with asking her supervisor/manager what her priorities should be and setting up something of a routine. There is nothing wrong with being assertive and communicating any concerns she has - it's a two way street, and hopefully the new employer wants her to be comfortable. Maybe have a quick check-in each morning with her boss to establish tasks for the day. 
 
Two days isn't enough imo to write a place off. I hope it turns around for the better!

mine has streaks in it. dark purple but when held up to light it had them. i don't remember them being particularly 'orange'...but maybe...i didn't look at it too close...

People like this album? I sold mine (which I got in a SHR grab bag thingy for free) for like $8 shipped a couple years ago. I could have retired early!

Add me to the list of people dumbfounded by the value of records by this band. Not sure how, but I ended up chatting with Virgil online before he started VC so I was a big supporter of his when VC first started. I signed up for this site as soon as he started it. Guess that's how I ended up with this pic disc that I don't like. Anybody want to pay way too much for a signed copy that's numbered #3 out of 1000?

That was a totally different situation. Ross was new to everyone at the time, was completely unproven as a record label owner and had no track record. He fucked up, and I think he'll willingly admit that. He's since put out dozens of records with all sorts of bands, active and broken up, big and small, and it's clear he's gotten better at what he does, because people continue to work with him and promote the product he creates.
 
Would I reissue something on vinyl without telling the band? No. But clearly, that's not what Ross did here. And the only reason people care is because it's 1)an active band and 2)someone who's easily reachable—aka not Music On Vinyl, 4 Men With Beards, Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs, etc. All of those companies buy the rights to releases all the time and reissue them with all sorts of bells and whistles, likely without the artist's involvement. Do you think those limited colored pressings Newbury Comics are doing are signed off on by the artist 100% of the time? Doubtful.
 
It's an artist's job to create art however they deem appropriate. It's a record company's job to sell that art however they deem appropriate. As someone who has nearly 15 years in "the industry," let me tell you that band members are typically the most out-of-the-loop people when it comes to their own careers, which is why they react emotionally and publicly to things like this instead of trying to politely and professionally get to the bottom of it behind the scenes. Such is the creative mind, I suppose.
 
I like Cartel. I like this record. I like Ross. I bought a copy, which puts money in Ross' pockets, who already put money into Cartel's pockets, because the licensing fee he paid to Epic most likely included royalties. There is no loser in this situation, except people who want to pretend they understand how the music industry works but have literally less than 1% of a clue.

Am I the only one who thinks - generally speaking - UK shops and labels ship their stuff in the absolute worst way possible? I think Europe is bad in general, but the UK takes the cake - they're the only ones who constantly use those awful thin brown mailers for singles and LPs, sometimes without even a piece of cardboard inside for support.
 
And even when they do use cardboard mailers or fillers, it seems like it's a kind unique to that island which almost collapses upon itself like an accordion with barely a touch. I swear I've left one of those sitting empty on a counter after getting something mailed to me and within a week it had disintegrated under its own weight.
 
When I order from over there, I pretty much bite my lip and set the expectation that corners will be dinged to hell, at least one seam will be split and at least a few creases will be present on the sleeve. I just keep my fingers crossed the vinyl doesn't get warped - or worse, broken.

I'm gonna have to say no to this Rambo. I was aware of this RSD release, but this thread made me aware of the repress. Am I going to buy it? No. But without this thread I wouldn;t have been able to tell some friends of mine about it. You may be a mod, but you don't speak for everybody. Excuse our ignorance.

If you're like me, and were bummed that you weren't able to score the RSD Ghostbusters 10", there is good news.  SoundStageDirect has a preorder up for this for $16.99.  I called them to see if this was a mistake, but they said it really is a preorder for the next batch of them, coming in June.  They said these will be just like the RSD version, except they won't be numbered.  So, unless you really care about the number, you can get one without paying the RIDICULOUS eBay prices.  Frankly, I hope this puts a little bit of a damper on the flippers' fun.

Still play the CD often. Would love to have on vinyl.
