I haven't been following this thread, but after several years of actually obsessing with certain artists on instagram and trying to decide on some new work, I finally have a tattoo appointment this evening after work. I'm stoked! I haven't gotten a tat in about 20 years.

jeromium reacted to ntslash in Radiohead - A Moon Shaped Pool
Am I the only one who put the records directly in the designated sleeves in the book? I've been able to put them in and take them out easily without any apparent degradation to the quality of the vinyl. Three listens in and my copy still sounds flawless. I can't detect a single pop or any other extraneous noise.
I'm somewhat tempted to put one of my white copies in the book instead and putting these records in the standard album jacket so it's easier to get out the superior records. But I also love looking at the artwork while I listen. Such tough decisions I'm forced to make in my life.

It's the best unboxing video I've ever seen. Was expecting Max Headroom to appear.
PS: LOVE that Chieftan Mews is back.

jeromium reacted to Cloudsbelow in Po: Radiohead - Kid A & Amnesiac 12" reissues
Just dropped the needles and its a quiet pressing.
Immediate impression. Low surface noise. Nice dynamics and deep full bass.
Sounds great to me.
Really appreciating the detail and sound stage.
They put a loop in at the end of side a. The first little blip from national anthem. Cant remember that being there on the 10" pressing.
Still wish I didnt have to change sides every couple tracks.
Was the source truly remastered? Gonna have to a/b with older cuts. Sounds true to the recording I know and love so if remastered its not jarring in its differences. Wouldnt surprise me if it was though, some details I am picking up on that I never noticed before.
Halfway thru first record and no issues with the pressing. Large format art work is rad.
I think they nailed this pressing.
A/b'd it with my old UK pressing and this beats it imho. Clearer bass, better detail and does sound remastered to me.
Will be my go to.

Third World Pyramid is the first album that was fully recorded & produced at Anton’s new Cobra Studio in Berlin.
It is the 15th full length release from the Brian Jonestown Massacre recorded from early 2016.
Featuring Ricky Maymi, Dan Allaire, Joel Gion, Collin Hegna & Ryan Van Kriedt from the band.
Also Emil Nikolaisen from the Norwegian band Serena-Maneesh joins the band on this album , plus vocal performance Tess Parks and Katy Lane.
Anton Newcombe has been a very busy man these past 2 years, kicking off with the critically acclaimed Brian Jonestown Massacre album ‘Revelation’ in May 2014.
After a successful UK and European tour, the BJM followed this up with the ‘+-‘ EP (Nov 2014). 2015 saw the release of ‘Musique de film imaginé’ (April); an imaginary film soundtrack album featuring the track ‘Bonbon’ which has, ironically, been used in ‘Dheepan’; the Palme D'or winner at Cannes film festival 2015.
In June, Anton and Tess Parks embarked on a well received tour of the UK and Europe to support the release of ‘I Declare Nothing’. Anton finished the year with a BJM mini-album release entitled ‘Mini-Album Thingy Wingy’. The band have been touring the world since November 2015, playing Australia, New Zealand, and then in 2016 USA, Canada & Europe.
They will play Desert Daze at Joshua Tree National Park in October and finish their tour in South America playing Argentina and Chile in November

WOOHOO! Ordered! I was in grad school in Boston from the fall of 1992 to the summer of 1994. One of the best parts of my experience was all the quality college radio stations there, and they played the fuck out of this album. Will love having this on vinyl.

jeromium reacted to tug in Secretly Society: Secretly Group Record Club (jagjaguwar, secretly canadian, numero group, dead oceans record club)
got ya. i would think that would frustrate more people though. vinyl variants with every store getting a diff color is a little out of control at the moment. much like how bonus tracks were out of control on cds 10 years ago when every store had an extra song. but with the cds, the bonus tracks could just be downloaded so it was not a big deal to just buy the regular version then download the extra songs, it was acturally nice to get to download a few extra tracks. but with diff color vinyl, the only option is to buy them all to complete collection. i think there should only be 2 variants of every record released, your classic black and a unique color if buying it directly from the band. but it seems colors are the trend right now and the way labels/bands are rolling... although i think its a ploy to get people to buy multiple copies, the same way it was with the bonus track cds i mentioned.

jeromium reacted to dnl in The Official 'Vinyl Me, Please' thread.
If its a matter of pleasing the AOTM subscribers, they could give subscribers special pre-access to the exclusives. Or they can set a limit per customer for each exclusive (if they don't already do that.)

jeromium reacted to robes in Po: Radiohead - Kid A & Amnesiac 12" reissues
I wouldn't mind having Amnesiac on a single LP, as already mentioned. What makes it strange is that The Bends is 48 minutes long and never got the 2xLP treatment. Heck, I'd even be cool with a decent pressing of Kid A on a single LP, especially since having to constantly flip the sides really messes up the flow of the album.
