So who wants to make a 3rd Tool thread so I can actually follow one that might be helpful when the LP  gets released?

To me it is really about what you are personally getting out of the music, and how you comprehend what you are listening to. And that is going to be completely different between someone who is 8 vs teenage years >.  So I don't question that anyone was technically listening to anything at a certain age (My kid had heard plenty of Throbbing Gristle by the time he was 5). But it is not like and 8 year old is hearing any of those bands and understands at all what they or their music are about. Nor are they walking into their local mall cd store and grabbing the latest RATM or NIN's TDS off the shelf themselves with their hard earned cash. At that age most of what people hear is really either parental/sibling based, or just what gets played on the radio and is readily accessible. I can see how someone who has a connection to a band or a certain song for a million happy/sad/angry or other emotional reasons based on personal experiences could get frustrated at a person saying that "I loved tool when I was 8".  Yes you did love Tool at 8. I totally believe that. But it's an 8 year old way of loving it. Which is fine and perfectly normal.

After all these years of buying pretty much everything he has released I'm officially done. The awful album I bought last month marks the end of our relationship.

I also just saw that the 7" that turned into a full length is going to be a Consumer -LP called "In Computers". This year's subscription really couldn't be any better.

Supposedly public preorders for the new Have a Nice Life album will be  up next Tuesday night.

The releases Urban is consistently putting out is embarrassing to say the least.

For sure.  Someone pointed out that you can “fold” the logo in half to create a syringe, and that’s cool or whatever... but at what cost?  I stand pretty firmly by my Geocities / Angelfire comparison from the other day.  Part of me hopes there’ll be a chintzy visitor counter on the pre-order page or at least a guestbook we can all sign after we place an order.

$120 plus tax for the deluxe limited box set on colored vinyl (2x red & 2x blue) down at TMR Cass Corridor. 

Not sure how reliable they are with LP preorders but Wal Mart also has it for $166. I know they did fulfill some Chris Cornell boxsets when those came out though.

Patience pays off.  Got a box set for $163 shipped via deepdiscount with the 15% coupon. Figured it was the cheapest option

Did you check ups too? Mine says the same as yours in usps, but in ups I can see that it'll be delivered to my local post office today. I'll hopefully have it tomorrow. Also the EV poster i grabbed last Thursday is slated to be here tomorrow too which is unusually fast. Guessing they had the posters already tubed up and ready to ship.

This is where I'm struggling as well. It's tough to justify the almost $50 price tag, but I can remember watching this on MTV like it was yesterday. I remember Krist decapitating the In Utero props on the stage so vividly. 

I was not counting RSD, everything is closer to $30+ for even the most basic release (ie ep or single) on RSD but that is ok because its a day to help support small mom and pop shops.
depends how you collect.  if you buy just your fav albums on vinyl you'd prob have about a dozen LPs but if you buy everything you like on vinyl then your in trouble.  I think most just buy their fav bands stuff + their fav albums by other bands...but seeing some collections of people I think I am wrong.

Movie is absolutely bonkers. The score during the scene where the elders are completing their "ceremony" on top of that mountain... that was enough to make me want this OST.

Should be released this month. I'd keep an eye out on the 10th.
