dawhizz
Sorry if this answer is somewhere in the thread, but I've seen some clear copies of Clarity with an SRC /250 sticker on the back and some that don't. Anyone know what's up with that?
avery
i just ordered futures from amoeba with their 15% off deal and didn't realize there is a black vinyl version as well as the blue. it hasn't arrived yet, but are there any identifiers that would let you know prior to opening if it's the colored vinyl option? i also got static prevails from amoeba and that arrived already because it shipped from 30 miles away (as opposed to their warehouse in KY) and it didn't have any indication that it was the lavendar. i know it all sounds the same but i really like how the blue looks in going along with the theme of the album art and their recent tour (blue lighting and all). if it's not the blue, i will probably send it back and get the one i want for cheaper on discogs. i only ordered through amoeba because of the sale, free shipping and i was already ordering a bunch of other things. If it's shipping from Amoeba Hollywood, it's probably blue. Amoeba Hollywood gets some of their records from Cobraside Distro and the last time I was at Cobraside, they had the blue pressing in stock. avery
Colored ones are gone at this point I'm pretty sure. are you just referring to Futures? because i got Static Prevails in the same order and that was colored. If it's shipping from Amoeba Hollywood, it's probably blue. Amoeba Hollywood gets some of their records from Cobraside Distro and the last time I was at Cobraside, they had the blue pressing in stock. i didn't know that! but that's the thing..... my Static Prevails came from Amoeba Hollywood and so that one is colored. Futures is coming from their kentucky warehouse so maybe it won't be blue... i have no idea. it arrives next tuesday. they said i could return it as long as it's unopened. avery
i got my copy of Futures earlier than i thought. amoeba's KY warehouse sent it outside of the sleeve so it wasn't even sealed but the best part about that was it is indeed the blue variant and i didn't even have to worry about if i should unseal it or not. woohoo. nyhi
What's the pressing info for the 180 gram black "tour versions"? The SRC newsletter makes it sound like it's more limited than the colored ones. Anyone have any info?
troymess
Anyone find somewhat "affordable" copies of this with the weekend sales going on? I know affordable is a relative term so anyone find copies for around $25 a piece?

Tommy
Finally got around to buying Clarity on clear and there is a TON of surface noise. I always have bad experiences with clear. Anyone else hearing this? I'm wondering if its the pressing or if I sell this and pick up a black it will solve the problem. any help is appreciated. Thanks

Thanks I don't recall having any issues with mine, but i can spin it again tonight and let you know. When you say a "ton of surface noise" do you mean ticks and clicks and pops, or a swooshing noise? Eliminator Jr.
Not a single problem with my clear copy. You might have snagged a lemon there. Of all colored vinyl I have listened to, the clear ones are most likely the best sounding.

When you say a "ton of surface noise" do you mean ticks and clicks and pops, or a swooshing noise? Its mostly clicks and pops. I usually give all my records a once over with the Disc Washer (no fluid) just to get the fibers from the factory/sleeves so it would have been clean as a whistle. I don't know, just odd. wondering if i'd be better off going with a black though.

I've had albums that were a little ticky and poppy the first spin but sound clean as a whistle the second time through.
StandupPaul
Have to agree with everyone else that you may have picked a lemon. My clear version sounds incredible, it's probably one of the best sounding records I can remember in recent years.

Tommy
I just ran up to my local UO and they let me swap the C/D disc. New one sounds perfect! So weird, bad batch I guess. niblips and THE_James_Champ
