Spiderland77
Arthur Russell – First Thought Best Thought. AU-1005-1. 2006. 3× Vinyl. I’ve paid quite a fortune to get this one (approx.. 110 $). What can I say, it’s worth every dollar. Now my new white whale would be Beck – Sea Change MFSL. Sidney Crosley
White whale LP: Royal City - At Rush Hour the Cars (Canadian band, defunct label, nothing showing up on Discogs for more than a year, even CD is insanely hard to find) Out of price range: Hold Steady - Separation Sunday Beulah - When Your Heartstrings Break White unicorn (does not exist on vinyl but sure wish it did): Paul Westerberg - Stereo/Mono treble charger - Maybe It's Me (90s Canadian alterna-rock...so good!) Someone where between an expensive album and a white whale -Face To Face-Big Choice blue promo, comes up for a sale a few times a year I'd definitely call BC a white whale. I took me a few years to find a copy, even with cash in hand. I've seen two copies pop up for sale this calendar year and both went for 250 plus. derby625
Just out of my price range -Less Than Jake-Losing Streak Picture Disc About 2 years ago on eBay there was one for bid with a BIN of $30. I was quite intoxicated and for some reason bid instead of just buying it and watched it go for waaaay more. Oops. I be dumb
Twistedshabazz
I really wish they would just repress those LTJ albums so i dont have to spend a large chunk of change on a damn picture disc... thenameisluigi
xadamhudsonx
How'd you get a copy? The bay? Regardless; my post was an attempt at a joke. I think the way people use 'white whale' on this thread is super liberal. I guess I should have used 40oz to Freedom or something. Instagram in fact. Dr Strange Records bought a large collection that included a ton of Converge and Integrity pieces and the clear with shards was apart of it. I called up several hours after they posted they bought this collection on the off chance they still had it... and they did. Gave me a good deal on it too. Also, it showed up yesterday. I came. corey., FangsAnalSatan and plasma36

thenameisluigi
Just out of my price range -Less Than Jake-Losing Streak Picture Disc i've said enough about this album Losing Streak took me a long time to find for a decent price. Ended up getting it from discogs a few weeks back for about $50 instead of the standard $70-$80 I always see. I really wish they would just repress those LTJ albums so i dont have to spend a large chunk of change on a damn picture disc... You and me both. All their early albums are a pain to find for a decent price.
RevolverOcelot45
I'm just going to put a bunch of them out there Ceasar Frazier: Ceasar Frazier 75 Ceasar Frazier: Hail Ceasar Guns N Roses: Live Like a Suicide/Use Your Illusion I and II/Live Era 87-93 In particular, Hail Ceasar. It's got a bunch of smoking hot Prestige label musicians at the top of their game. Melvin Sparks on guitar, Houston Person on Sax, Idris Muhammad on Drums. The album just crackles along with funky flow and doesn't let up. The two Frazier albums usually command around 100 apiece because they're so obscure and received such a limited pressing I think. I can get the 2 albums on one CD for 15 but its just not the same..... Edit: I haven't found any of these yet....
RevolverOcelot45
like 12 years ago i saw a copy of the meat puppets' s/t debut at a local record store for like $8 or something and passed it up because i hadn't heard it at that point. turns out it's one of my favorite records ever and i've been looking for a copy forever. i don't do the whole ebay thing at all and i don't spend more than $15 or so on used lps as a rule, but i finally got a copy today. I'm the same way. I don't like spending more than 15 in cash either, and when I get something more than 15 I usually prefer trading for it. I got my copy of s/t for 14 and I don't regret it at all. RevolverOcelot45
The Replacements - Let It Be I guess like almost anything else it can be found online for a high price...I still consider this a white whale because it seems so hard to find in the wild. Most copies seem to be held in captivity these days. One of my best finds. 99 cents at Goodwill!

Many memories with that album. You won't get shit from me, I liked that album.
RevolverOcelot45
Tron Legacy OST. Will probably never happen. I saw that at my local record store the other day. fallenmatador
had the opportunity to buy all these at reasonable burgers and fries prices, just kills me thinking about it. But that's the score. These are hardly impossible, but way too pricey: Beck- Sea Change, either of the three pressings, Mobile Fidelity being my favorite missed opportunity. Ryan Adams- Love is Hell : was, until MF released the new LTD box set. Interpol- Our Love To Admire Sigur Ros- Takk. Badly needs a repressing so it can go on sale for 4.3 seconds. Massive Attack- Heligoland/ Burial- Four Walls LTD 1000 gold dust The Good, The Bad & The Queen- S/T. Saw one for $13 brand new 2009. Facepalm Aphex Twin- Drukqs Ben Howard- Burgh Island EP LTD 1000 Explosions in the Sky- Friday Night Lights OST Magnetic Fields- 69 Love Songs Box Set. Had my chance. Ryan Adams- Live After Deaf Box Set Asobi Seksu- ST The Virgin Suicides- Air OST Gems of the earth Faunts- Remixed/ M4/ Feel Love Thinking Of. Trespassers William- Having Ultra Orange & Emmanuelle- ST Architecture In Helsinki- Fingers Crossed Johnny Flynn- Been Listening, Demo Recordings
