There is a pre-order for the album on vinyl! Now let's hope he presses the other albums! corey.
I love Damien Rice, but I'm curious what he did for the last 8 years as far as work goes/making ends meet haha. Gonna get this album, it'd be cool if they pressed his others too, specifically "O"
clerk3745
I have the Live at Fngerprints: Warts and All and its pretty sweet. I have a feeling that this will either be darker than ever or more along the lines of Ray Lamontagne's new one.
dawhizz
His website has a picture of what I presume will be the track list. About f'n time.
achillesstand7
I'll definitely be interesting in hearing this. I loved "O" in high school, and really liked a few songs off of "9". It's been a long time though since I've listened to any of his stuff.
toomanyrecords
Gonna need a stream before I get excited. O is one of the best albums I've ever heard (WHY IS IT STILL NOT PRESSED) but 9 was very mediocre. neverendingburrito

casinonightzone
On one of his live albums he talks about the song "Gray Room" and how he didn't just want to write really sad shit anymore. It's dark when you're a songwriter and you get pigeonholed into writing only sad songs. It's like people expect only sad minor-key shit from him. He said he was ready to get out of that. If he makes a happy album people will be resistant to the change. Hell, I'm not sure how I'd feel about that. I'm really looking forward to this album. I've really enjoyed his past albums. sacredheart
I thought 9 was amazing and just as great (if not better) than O. Very happy to see that there is something new coming out.
filthyrich
I love Damien Rice, but I'm curious what he did for the last 8 years as far as work goes/making ends meet haha. He self-released "O" without any label support (just distribution), so on the conservative side he made between $8 and $10 per sale (because this was pre-iTunes, so no downloads or $.000000001 streams on Spotify.) And it sold over a million worldwide. Do the math. And that's not counting publishing... Touring... And all the money from TV and movie placement. The guy's probably sitting on a small fortune, and to his credit he didn't rush out some crap product over the last 8 years when he wasn't inspired. As far as I know he's only done charity shows and contributed tracks to various causes and such, so good for him. "O" is one of my favorite albums of the 2000s, and the two times I saw him (the second in Nashville at the Ryman) were spellbinding shows. It has been frustrating waiting for new material, though. Hopefully he does use this occasion to release proper vinyl for O and 9. I'd gladly pay more for audiophile, 45 RPM, dead-quiet pressings. jonnystorm777
Sweet, looks like we have some reals Damien fans on here. I heard he has been sitting on this album for a year or so. Was having troubles with a record label I guess. I love both his albums and an really excited to hear some new stuff. Can't wait!
niblips
this is great news. And i also hope for reissues of the previous albums. I remember my wife buying the first album for me. I had not heard any of it, but she did and knew that i would like it. I played the hell out of that cd for over a month.
Tamubro
Bundles are now up at http://www.damienrice.com Just saw Damien play in Switzerland on August 23. He is unbelievable. Last time I saw him was at the Bass Concert Hall (Austin, TX) back in 2007. I have been waiting a long time for this.

niblips
wow. $35 for the lp and digital DL. I didn't even bother looking at how much shipping to Canada was. I'll have to wait for amazon.ca or my local record store to get it in.
