Not even surprised, that people who liked this movie\score are that rude.

there's a difference between liking/not liking this film/score and thinking both this film and this score are the worst of the seven. Even a person who thinks this film is really bad cannot in good conscience rank it below all others. Unless that person hates cinema. And good taste.

And lighten up, no need to take everything to heart, especially if what's written is very apparently an exaggeration.

I'm just curious is here anyone who thinks, that it's worst soundtrack to worst star wars movie?

Are you including the prequels? Because I don't see how anyone could ever think that the new movie is worse than those ones. Unless you really love couch dialogue or lifeless CGI or emotionless light saber duels.

Revenge of the Sith is the greatest Star Wars movie for this scene, and this scene alone.

I thought this was the weakest of the Star Wars scores.  It's still John Williams, so its good, but there weren't any iconic themes that stuck out.  Even the prequels, which are terrible, terrible, terrible movies had really good scores.  Dat Duel of Fates...

Anyway, I would rank this my least favorite SW score ("worst" cant be used for this) and the movie was probably my 4th favorite.

I think people's opinions will shift a little as time goes on. The score is much less immediate and much more subtle than his other scores. That being said as I spend more time with it, I love almost all of it. Is it as good as the other Williams scores? Way too early to say in my opinion. Attack of the clones isn't that amazing. I feel like everyone thinks Duel of the Fates is the whole music that is played throughout all the prequels the way everyone talks about them. Rey's theme, the resistance theme, Kylo's theme (which seems pretty obvious to me to be more developed as the saga continues), and even Snoke, after you listen a couple of times starts to become really cool.

Haha, didn't you not even like Star Wars until that long ago?

I was positive about this movie, because I like star wars, but it wasn't star wars. It looked like mix of hunger games and star trek with light sabers. Movie without soul and logic where 70% of plot and even some scenes were taken from original saga.

first 1/3 is pretty much great thou but the rest is really. really bad.

The acting and special effects in 7 are really great! Biggest eyecandy of the year. +Main villain and his motives are interesting. But remember outstanding fight with darth maul from E1(and music there), remember asteroid field chase from E2(the sound of explosions still gives me boner) and the last fight from E3? Prequels even with REALLY bad acting felt, looked and sounded like star wars.

I think the main problem with me and E7 that E7 lost THAT atmosphere and sountrack is just out of place.

What a weird concept, right? Someone who dislikes previous installments of a franchise certainly cannot enjoy a new one, because only an idiot would judge each work separately and not have their opinions swayed by other related works.

Outstanding.  ;)

I saw it Saturday morning and the moment the music started as far as I was concerned it was 1977 and I was 9 years old again.

I can't be arsed with an asinine critique of the film or the score but what I will say is that my 11 year old daughter and I thought it was superb and therefore any comments not in line with that considered view are quite obviously wrong on all levels and that's an end to it..

 pporly mastered localization

By that do you mean poorly simulated sound placement or that it was poorly dubbed? If the latter, do you only get dubbed movies in theaters? That must really suck then, we only get one or two films per year that aren't screened in the original language and it's still pretty annoying.

I meant poorly mastered when music and dialogs are at the same volume and all our movies translated

Eh, I disagree. It feels like the majority of the prequel trilogy is made up of characters having boring political discussions while sitting on couches or taking slow walks in front of a blue screen. That really isn't what makes Star Wars "Star Wars" for me.

Yes, you can pick certain parts out of the prequels that are okay, but I really do think they miss the point of why people loved the original movies in the first place. The originals had likable and memorable characters with actual personalities, a simple, yet effective plot, and lightsaber duels that actually had some meaning behind them. I mean I guess the Darth Maul fight was pretty well choreographed. But in the prequels, the lightsaber battles are just emotionless, perfectly-choreographed, pointless action scenes for the most part. The last fight in Episode III could have been excellent but it last forever and took place in the most ridiculous setting. That lava surfing part is just laughable.

Then jump to the new movie. Yes, the plot is kind of "safe" and some parts are obviously taken from A New Hope. But the execution is so right compared to the prequels. The cast is fantastic and I actually care about the characters. The comedic moments are actually funny. The pacing is excellent and it feels like something is actually happening throughout the whole movie. From a story standpoint, it's actually very simple, which is engaging! No convoluted plot about trade federation blockades. And the lightsaber fights actually have emotional weight behind them.

I'm going to have to see the movie again to give my full thoughts on the score. But the first minute of The Force Awakens feels more like Star Wars than the prequel trilogy ever did, in my opinion.
