element101
Yup, Just sold my Glassjaw 7" a week ago and sure enough it was to Rebrecords1rebellion records 602 birch branch circle jacksonville FL 32259 United States He had 1 positive feedback when he bid on my record, and he has gotten another positive feed back from someone else, yet I have received no payment or communication. I wish I saw this thread sooner. I have the same story. I've seen at least 8 ebay names and he still gets pass me. Thanks for posting. A couple of names ago he actually payed for something and his account was deleted. I kept the money and the item. I figured it was the least I could do. So hopefully that was a small dose of his own medicine. But he kept bidding with a new name so I hope he'll at least give up with bidding from me. suburbanargyle
This dude is so weird. I don't remember if I posted this story earlier in the thread, but a few years ago I had a "for sale" thread going, and he bought about $130 of records from me (it was a whole bunch of $8-10 range stuff). He didn't have enough money, so he asked if he could pay in installments over a number of weeks time (and I wasn't going to send a single record 'til all the money was there). I figured it was going to be at worst a waste of my time, but sure enough he came through on the installment plan and I unloaded a bunch of records on him. The impression I got at the time was that he had good intentions but got a little overzealous with his buying.
beta114
This is so freakin weird. I've come to the conclusion that he has something wrong with him. No, not like a joke - but seriously something mentally wrong
jerseydave77
He pays from time to time but more often than not he doesn't. There is a weird entitlement issue. Just because you want something doesn't mean you deserve it. No one puts stuff up for sale to have it held hostage for an extra few weeks while they await payment or for eBay to side with you in an investigation. If you can't pay at the point of purchase then don't bid or hit the buy it now or whatever. It is frustrating to say the least but I didn't buy records for 5 years while I was in grad school and starting my career. Sure I missed some great stuff but I was able to eat and I didn't screw up anyone else's life. Priorities need to always stay in check when dealing with your hobbies and that obviously isn't the case here.

suburbanargyle
Oh yeah, and the money he was waiting to receive was always disability or workman's comp. or something like that. And if that's your only income, you should definitely be spending it all on records.
finchbadass
well when you still live in your mom's basement when you're 30 then you can spend money on non essentials. it's funy that you say disability or workers comp, because if you google his name and jacksonville/orange park florida a computer repair shop comes up with him as the owner. http://repairitjax.wordpress.com/about/ so maybe he has carple tunnel from jerking it to internet porn. I think he originally bought stuff from me through ebay and realized he lived close. Once he joined VC we would swing by my work every couple/few months and we would trade records/cash on the installment plan... Sometimes it would take months and months to get paid but i was never in a huge rush to unload records so it wasnt that big of a deal. But over about a year or so he bought like $700+ worth of stuff from me. Dudes a good guy but obviously he has a collection addiction and just has eyes bigger than his wallet. I dont understand the ebay bidding and bailing but that is super shitty. Seems like that is a super common thing to happen on ebay lately, or atleast it happens to me alot nowadays. Im not sticking up for the dude, but he was a decent guy but i can not attempt to explain his addiction to buy and not paying for records. I dont live in jax anymore so i havent heard from him in about a year or so. Good luck to you guys dealing with him.
scottheisel
Anyone know if this is his new name? http://myworld.ebay.com/2011revengeisbest/ He's the high bidder on a few of my auctions right now. Is there any way to find out his contact info from eBay before the auction ends?
scottheisel
Nevermind, just found out how to request the bidder's contact info. It's some girl from the Bronx, not anyone from Florida. Phew!
rambo
She's bidding on my stuff also... I hope she pays. How did you find her contact info?

jeremybentham
She's bidding on my stuff also... I hope she pays. How did you find her contact info? Yes, please. Someone from the BRONX just made offers, that I accepted, for 2 items and their fucking name is: thisismyrevengeonallofyou. They haven't paid yet, and all my listings say "immediate payment required," no matter what. Mother fucker.
vinylremains
2011revengeisbest and thisismyrevengeonallofyou both just bought a ton of stuff from me on ebay, both have addresses in the bronx, both just joined ebay in the last day. Wonder what the odds are I'll get paid for the records they bought.
finchbadass
if those various "revenge" accounts are that rick angley dude, then he bought something from himself with one of his new accounts just to give himself feedback.

shenanigans
I wonder what kind of legal ramifications there could be. My understanding was bidding on something on ebay was legally binding. Would be a nice class action suit. lol Where's themean?
bengalimenace
I've been a part of one of those debacles. Offender got his IP and bank account banned from ebay. All the offended got shit except a stupid "sorry we don't know how to monitor our own website, we're taking steps to insure this kind of thing doesn't happen in the future." email. Hopefully there's some form of compensation now.
