aflycon
The story with the guy from pennywise was dumb. They seemed to add more drama to the whole doc because of the turmoil with him and his band. If it wasnt for that they probably would not have focuesed on him. I liked lars friedricksen and tim mcilrath alot more and would have preferred them as the main people. Lars was really interesting for sure. I appreciate that they featured Ron Reyes, too - he had some cool stuff to say as I think the oldest "punk rock dad" who was featured. I'm probably biased because NOFX is one of my favorite bands, but Fat Mike's segments were my favorites. Yes!! dantheriver
I'm in the same boat. I liked it quite a bit, but I didn't really get it. I even watched the beginning again to see if it would click. I like this theory about it a lot. http://www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat/2014/03/14/enemy_movie_ending_explained_the_meaning_of_the_jake_gyllenhaal_and_denis.html I'm going to have to rewatch it though. This movie sounds cool. I'm gonna watch it tonight probably. And also Prisoners because I don't think I had heard of it and it sounds cool too! thebiglebowski
Working on "the moaning of life" tonight. Was iffy after the first episode. Second had me rolling, though.
eight1echo
Enemy the ending made me jump hahah I think they are the same person and the movie is just a portrayal of his own inner struggle with being a faithful husband. There's a lot of clues that lead you to believe they are actually the same person, conversation with his mother, his wife saying did you have a good day at school, etc. I think, like his lecture on the repeating cycle of history, that in the end nothing has changed and he's taking the key to the sex club and being a shitty husband again. And also Prisoners because I don't think I had heard of it and it sounds cool too!Don't know why I thought I hadn't seen Prisoners, saw it in theaters last year. Whatever small synopsis I read didn't register with me. Love this movie, super excited for Enemy now.
3arl
Don't know why I thought I hadn't seen Prisoners, saw it in theaters last year. Whatever small synopsis I read didn't register with me. Love this movie, super excited for Enemy now. Prisoners was my David Fincher fix for a year without a Fincher movie. Very surprised and impressed with it. Thankfully Gone Girl is coming out this year.
swisherprice
Started The Wire at the beginning of this month, and I'm just about halfway through season 5 now. I can't believe it took me so long to see it, but I'm glad I finally did! I love how the stories connect through each season, and how it doesn't dumb it down or hold back. I'm hooked on this show! Bladewillisisdead
Prisoners was dope as hell. Roger Deakins fucking killing it with them lenses and shit. I'm rewatching Tucker and Dale vs Evil for the first time in a few years. This movie owns. The kid diving into the wood chipper is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I guess they just announced there is a sequel in development, I hope that pans out. hippielauryn

Which is one of my favorite movies of the past few years.
circuit bored records
Watched "Devil's Due" tonight. Holy moly what a gigantic pile of steaming dogshit that movie was.
Bladewillisisdead
Tucker and Dale was cool, but I saw it right after Cabin In The Woods. Which is one of my favorite movies of the past few years. They'd make a good double feature, but yeah Tucker and Dale should definitely be first because Cabin in the Woods just goes so fucking hard. I kinda wish it wasn't 3am because now I want to watch CitW.
steventangent
I was surprised by how good Tucker and Dale was, just because the idea seems to hacky and corny and one-note. Cabin In The Woods was awesome, too. I think You're Next mines some of the same territory re: the "Last Girl" trope, and that was the last horror movie I saw that really impressed me. circuit bored records
You're Next was a cool flick, I really enjoyed it. I generally enjoy the work of all the mumblegore guys. Speaking of which, I'm really excited to watch The Sacrament next week, will order as soon as it comes on demand.
Bladewillisisdead
You're Next, Tucker and Dale, Cabin in the Woods would be a pretty dope "Let's drink and watch movies" triple feature. I had high hopes for Tucker and Dale and CitW but You're Next really blew me away because I went in knowing nothing about it.
radiatorhums
You're Next really blew me away because I went in knowing nothing about it. That's how I was. I heard it was good, but didn't really know anything about it going in. It was a real pleasant surprise. I can't wait to see their next film (The Guest). Rip
Love all the Tucker & Dale/Cabin In The Woods/You're Next talk. Some of my favorite movies from the last few years. And I completely forgot about The Sacrament coming out so soon. I've been waiting for that for such a long time. I'm a pretty big Ti West fanboy though. steventangent
I liked those movies because I kind of burnt myself out on horror years ago. For someone who doesn't like torture porn flicks, and spent years watching every horror movie that I could get my hands on, it was kind of cool to see something I for really excited about. Though I guess I was in the minority of people that enjoyed Evil Dead last year, too.
Bladewillisisdead
Evil Dead remake was pretty cool. I mean it ended with a demon being skull fucked with a chainsaw while it literally rained blood and that's metal as fuck. Definitely top tier as far as recent horror remakes/reboots go. radiatorhums
Just finished the last season of Buffy. It took me about 6 months to watch the whole series and I mostly enjoyed it. Some episodes were kind of duds and ti was cheesy at times, but overall I was glad that I took the time to watch it. I think I'm going to take a break from the Buffyverse for a while, but I do plan on watching Angel at some point (even though I think I should have watched them in tandem for crossover continuity). I also watched About Schmidt last night. I liked it, but couldn't see myself watching it a second time.
thebiglebowski
The continued the stories via comics, if you feel the need to be complete: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffy_the_Vampire_Slayer_Season_Eight
