Pre-Order expected to ship on June 11th. Package includes:

  • Exclusive super limited edition T-Shirt

The mystery of the brown paper bag suckered me in.

I got the t-shirt that they bundled with the Clarity repress, that I already own.

(ya know, the boring blue shirt that says "Jimmy Eat World Clarity 2009")

Wasn't expecting anything incredible.. but a bit better than that!

Yeah, the bag got me too. I got a boring white shirt from their 2007 tour. Gave it to a friend. Oh well, I love the album and it isn't the first time I overspent on a pre-order.

Well that's just lame. Gotta get rid of old merch somehow...

That blue shirt does look kinda spiffy though. Hope it isn't an eyesore like their headphones shirt.

Okay, I've come around on this album. I think I was initially put off by the muddy sound quality of the stream and the fact that the first singles led me to expect a more rock-oriented record. Ultimately, it's an interesting, concise album that balances the stripped down sounds of Invented with the earnest lyrics of some of their earlier efforts without ever really tripping over itself.

Songs like "Please Say No" and "No, Never" are growers that will probably become fan favorites for years to come, and "Appreciation" is the sort of track that demands to be played live and seems destined to be the lead off song on their next tour. The album tapers off toward the end, and those looking for the epic closing track that this band has practically trademarked will ultimately be disappointed in "You Were Good". Though given the concept that drives Damage, it's kind of fitting that this one ends on that sedated and sober note (like a lesser version of "Butterfly" off of Pinkerton). Acceptance isn't flashy, it just is.

is it a gatefold? anyone want to share pics?

i didn't do the one day shipping, so i gotta wait a few days before mine gets here.

Not a gatefold sadly. There's an insert and a single LP. It's pretty much the same setup as Chase This Light.

A few tracks in and I have to agree it sounds really nice. Noted improvement in clarity and separation from the CD and stream.
