booms528
I really dig Normal Person, I have only heard a live version of it though.. is it the same on the record? I felt the same way. It's not quite as intense on the record as it sounds live, but it's still in my top 3-4 favorite tracks.
ruckis
Just got some new headphones. Been waiting until they came in to give this a good spin. FINALLY listening.

ruckis
What kind did you score? Audio Technica ATH-M50. My first "real" pair of headphones. Not sure how much I'll be using them so I wanted something inexpensive to get me started. thefinalsound
Ent
Normal Person is one of my favorites...the project as a whole is growing on me. Will probably pick this up really soon or get it used/cheaper in a few months...
toomanyrecords
Spinning Reflektor for the first time right out of the package It sounds great but my copy has a bit of background noise and what looks like the smallest warp ever, but I can kinda tell as it goes around. :|

They'll sound so much better than they do out of the box. thefinalsound

Yeah? Do you have a suggestion for a portable amp?

All my AF records are smooth as fuck with no background noise whatsoever.
toomanyrecords
I gave it a wipe with my carbon fibre brush. The noise was only apparent on the first two tracks, went away after. Record sounds magnificent.
BuzzersonKillwell
this place is made up of a lot of folks who listen to 2 to 3 minute pop punk songs all the time. hell, someone said they just heard their first AF song the other day. even as a fan, i think long albums take a little time. That was me. I'm kind of into the new album but that back catalog isn't really speaking to me yet. Which doesn't have anything to do with VC preferences. I don't dig on pop punk really either. Derek™
Yeah? Do you have a suggestion for a portable amp? Sorry, I didn't see this last night. Will PM you in a moment. On topic: anyone have a favorite track off this thing yet?
timsimmons
I think reflektor is one of the best tracks of the year, but man do I love Joan of Arc and Afterlife.
Derek™
I think reflektor is one of the best tracks of the year Agreed on this. I was digging it the first time I heard it - when it debuted with the video - but I've really, really come to appreciate it since then. And Afterlife is undeniably feel-good in all the best ways possible. My other big top-track contender is It's Never Over (Hey Orpheus). Shelby
I love the Porno/Afterlife/Supersymmetry 3some. All three are my favorite tracks. I think Afterlife is my favorite overall though.
timsimmons
Porno is the only track I can't get behind. Here comes the Night 2 is kinda a throwaway as well.
mikeytags
I really didn't want to like this album. I've always been iffy about AF... but damn it's good!

mikeytags
Concept makes zero sense to me. it was sarcastic. I've never fully "got" this band despite all the praise, tried listening to every album, but nothing stuck. however, i'm really enjoying this one so far and it's making me want to give their previous albums another shot. Shelby
This album is making me want to like Neon Bible. I love Funeral, The Suburbs, and Reflektor... never got into Neon Bible. Probably because I haven't bought the physical record. Off to the Merge webstore...
ChardeeMacDennis
link to buy it for under 24 ppd http://www.overstock.com/Books-Movies-Music-Games/Arcade-Fire-Reflektor-Vinyl/8407384/product.html?refccid=7D2YJ4JCDHRZBO2BK22HCTB2B4&searchidx=

radiatorhums
Listened to this yesterday at work. I kept getting distracted by it, which is always a good sign. I liked the second half more than the first, but I have a feeling that it'll grow on me after repeat listens. I plan on picking it up sometime this week and really spending some time with it. I often think I enjoy it more than The Suburbs.
drewberinger
The Suburbs feels like a "safe" record from Arcade Fire - I really like it but it's my least favorite album from them. honestly I prefer Neon Bible and Reflektor the most, even though Funeral is a classic to most (rightfully so, I love that album too) toomanyrecords
