Gumbo72203
Damn, Gumbo. Sorry for the tough times bro! Wish I could help with the record situation. Head up dude! Go jam some more End of the Ocean live vids. Dude, watching Trish play music is like standing in the shadow of a goddess. She's beautiful, the music is beautiful... it's all so fucking beautiful. I can't take it!!! haha On some other good news, I'm getting the correct Giants variant for free, and a replacement copy of the Bossk record! What do you guys do with damaged records? Just throw them away? I don't know what to do with these, there are playable songs. Maybe I'll give them to a buddy who just got a turntable. Gumbo72203
No. Haha. But on another topic, none of you guys have "Minor Light" by Fourteen Nights At Sea, do you? Hobbledehoy still has some of the black and white w/ gray haze in stock... the haze looks beautiful, but again I'm leery of the sandpaper effect the process will have. GhostTrail
Not sure if you guys have heard Syberia, but they just posted a track from their new album due out in a few weeks -- it's fucking great. Best quick comparison I can make is akin to Junius (instrumentally) mixed with GIAA, maybe a splash of Latitudes, too. https://dmp666.bandcamp.com/album/resiliency

omik11303
Before I go on a manhunt, do any of you fellas have a copy of Years of Rice and Salt - Nothing of Cities that you're willing to sell? Re-discovering this phenomenal album and I'd like to track down a vinyl for myself.

Gumbo72203
Told you Bossk would get sorted. DW has awesome customer service. Yeah they're great. New copy on it's way. Also, you guys ought to check this band out. They're like... post-rock hardcore. Post-core? I can't fucking get enough of it. My one buddy hated it, but he's dumb. The recording is amazing. Very well-produced. It's a small group from Boston. Great dynamics and songwriting, IMO. Would love to hear what you guys think. https://youtu.be/gFRBYcYtvAE

Oh right, well the prices switch to USD on the page but when you look at things in your cart, it's in AUD I'm realizing now. I think that's why I'm confused. Either way, they're still charging $32 to ship 2 records. S/T is on sale there for like half off too. Grrrrr

And that's just the nature of the beast - loving post rock is expensive.
Gumbo72203
You know what? Fuck it. $76 for 2 records and a CD. This stuff isn't available elsewhere, and I want it. My bank account hurts. UGH. In other great news, Don's Sunlight Ascending collection made it to my door today. :D :D It's literally the post-rock holy grail. EVERYTHING. I NOW HAVE EVERYTHING. THEY EVER RELEASED. I win! EDIT: Just put the Fourteen Nights At Sea order through. I feel good about this. This music is so heavy.
pemulis
Hey Gumbo, if you are still interested in a working copy of Giants - Old Stories, you can get it from the label (cavity records) for like $14. Two different variants, 2nd press.

THICK with the Junius vibe which, while unoriginal, is very tasty. I would probably be into buying this record, but will wait until more songs are available. Great production on this. I'm locked in on that bass guitar, with that tremolo lead dangling overhead. I can see where you hear splashes of GIAA too. Nice stuff. Woah!!! This track picks up at the end! Yeah man!!! Also, I've been meaning to share this band/EP for a few days. These guys came through my email feed last week, from Fluttery Records. They make me think of Pray For Sound a bit, kind of an edgier post-rock twist. Lots of bouncing delays, but with a more upbeat foundation. Amazing production, IMO. Also hints of early TWDY. https://code-i.bandcamp.com/album/although-we-may-fall http://www.flutteryrecords.com/flttry104

Might pull the trigger on that because of the gatefold jacket it comes with too. Been talking to a guy on Discogs about it.
omik11303
https://youtu.be/gFRBYcYtvAE I followed this album when it came out and was very impressed. NapalmBrain
These guys are pretty cool, from Poland, combines post-rock, noise rock, and a little kraut. Sadly it's CD only edit: this one might be more fitting for this thread
