Kidcrash-Jokes is kind of the extreme of it but i'll always love how the instruments are just so vividly gnashing up front on that record and the vocals sound distant and caught somewhere in them out of sight. i just love the sensation of a great vocalist in the crashing of the guitars like pulling himself through to be heard, when done well it can be really magical. Guest Posted March 20, 2014 Share Posted March 20, 2014 Tempo levels don't really play a factor in my likeliness of this band. What makes this band great (for me) are the lyrics. This band shines through their lyrical twists and turns. That's why people are so invested in paying the extra money for the lyric book. This band can get away with any tempos as long as they can hook me with the storytelling. Pains me to say it, but it appears to me as if this band has contracted Cursiveitis. Where a band fully capable of rocking the fuck out decides instead to kinda just toe-tap its way through a record. Not feeling half the passion as the last two records in this one. Maybe it's just me but it's not like I was 17 when I first heard these dudes like I was when I first heard Cursive and now everything seems duller. Currently very disappointed but I've yet to sit down with the lyric book so I'm reserving my final "Will I ever reach for this instead of the other two LD records I love" opinion until I get a chance to do that. When I am in the car I have to have the volume all the way up on my phone and my stereo to be able to listen to it at the volume that I like. If so I'd rather spend the 7 extra bucks and get the blue or coke bottle clear on the foreign sites. I'd love the bundle with the blue swirl but I my wallet has taken a pounding and I still need to order the sound of animals fighting...damn.
