Number11
I've been meaning to install some led lights on my expedit for a while. I'm guessing those are ikea dioders?

MrMatt23
With my new setup I had a thought. If I get a dog I'll have to make sure he doesn't nibble at the bottom shelf!

dethrock
Sorry for the shitty pics, but I need your guys advice. I just finished filling one of the areas of this with records. It fit I think 67, but the way they lean, there's quite a bit of weight on the record at the very back. Any ideas on how to combat this? I can't get the records to sit up any more straight than they already are.
kannibal
This is a problem with that kind of setup. It puts a lot of weight on the top of the jackets at the back. I wonder if it can cause damage or ringwear problems. It seems like it could, but Physics was never a strong point for me.

You should screw one of these into the back of each row, to keep the back record standing up straight. http://www.amazon.co.uk/WHITE-RUBBER-DOOR-GUARD-SCREWS/dp/B007KQA3ZO Also, where did you get the bin? It's rad. dethrock
Family Friendly Rap God
Quick question. I'm headed to Charlotte to hit IKEA. Would the 2x2 Kallax box (possibly 2) fit in the back of a small Nissan?

dethrock
little bistro my friend just came over and we threw the level on it, and i definitely need some shims for the back. Thanks for the suggestion I'm going to do that and I think it will help a lot.

He got them from a friend that used to have a record store. I ended up buying 2 of them.
ajhall04
I had this issue with mine, I just use a cardboard mailer in the back for cushioning, and up front library bookends (they have so many uses). Still allows me to flip easily.
slinch
The best solution would probably be to make a divider to reduce the pressure. Just a beam running across the midpoint, essentially making two rows.

[Banned User]
Figured this was the best place to post this.. But does anyone have any advice for making their own box-set? Thinking wood, but open to suggestions. Especially since there are some creative set ups in this thread,

I drive a small Nissan (well it is a hatchback) and I can fit a ton of stuff in there, definitely a couple Kallax sized boxes.
GalacticMelt
I use a couple of bookshelves from Ikea. Within the shelves are baskets that contain DVDs and VHS tapes. In front of the baskets I like to display picture discs or colored vinyl. My 45 rpms have a basket as well. I like to display box sets if possible. kevinxabney
I'm so afraid when I see the 2x4 standing up right. Am I crazy to think all that weight shouldn't be that high up on a piece of ikea furniture?
