kramer73
http://www.amazon.com/Superunknown-Soundgarden/dp/B00IW4SCWE/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1394536933&sr=8-7&keywords=soundgarden+superunknown I'm good with the price, but not the [single] part of it. I don't really see them issuing this as a single LP outside of the other release.
timsimmons
It has to be a placeholder entry. The release date they have is a month before its supposed to come out. Hopefully that price is right though.
thesecrets0308
Yeah, I sure hope the price comes down on that. $55 for a 2LP album is pretty ridiculous. As much as I love this album, I'd have a hard time pulling the trigger at that price.
tonyfranciosa
lol at that price. I paid as much for an original a couple years ago.
sirrichardrichard
The album is 70 minutes long - the amazon release will be a double as well.
JFC1549
A dollar a minute lmao

Embracetomorrow
That's insane! Sad thing is people are still going to buy it. Still cheaper than a minty or even beat up Original press.
Dicky Greenleaf
Will wait for Popmarket. They can fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck right off at $55. my thoughts exactly. patience + popmarket = $29.99 by Xmas

rsholtis
Yeah, I think I am going with the Amazon also. $70 bucks with shipping? C'mon now...
tonyfranciosa
what's weird is the 5x10" box for RSD (which has 22 tracks) is being listed at like $45 on some sites.
throwgncpr
LOL, the price for that 2xLP is beyond stupid. I hope these sit around for a long while.

JFC1549
I really hope the amazon one is the same version. 70 bucks with shipping is really ridiculous!!
timsimmons
I want to hear this new master. Part of me wants to pre-order to hear the mp3s.
tonyfranciosa
also just noticed that they changed the cover for the 2LP, thus preserving the value of my OG. thank you based Cornell.
kramer73
I really hope the amazon one is the same version. 70 bucks with shipping is really ridiculous!! unfortunately, I wouldn't be surprised if Amazon screwed up. I'm not sure if the 5x10 is exclusive to RSD, but that hasn't stopped them before. I'm just a little surprised they haven't put up Superunknown yet. kramer73
here is the correct listing. Not great, but free shipping... :/ Also, the price will probably come down. http://www.amazon.com/Superunknown-20th-Anniversary-2LP-Soundgarden/dp/B00IXLQJ8U/ref=sr_1_6?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1394556064&sr=1-
chiefwahoo
I bought the original as soon as it came out at the lone remaining record store in my area. It was $11.99. I asked the owner if that was the right price because it had to be a 2xLP based on the track listing. He double checked and that was the right price. I guess I've been willfully ignorant of the increase in vinyl costs because as an old guy, I can pretty easily afford what I want whereas I had to pick and choose what I'd be spending my $11.99 when I bought this in high school. But $50+ for the new version? 20 years later or not, that's madness and it's (finally) going to make me think twice about what I buy going forward. I get it, it's not going to be $11.99, but that price. There is an exception, though. If it turns out that it is pressed at Pallas (or RTI, etc), thick tip on jacket, with the remaster sounding a lot better than the original, i may see the value in it. But sound unheard and sight unseen, with the previous releases being pressed at URP? No. Soundgarden needs a marteting person that understands what their fans want, and someone smart enough to explain why they are charging $55 for a double LP. azvd
There are several labels releasing great stuff under top notch packaging and reasonable prices (Southern Lord, f.i.) or strugglng to keep prices affordable (Temporary Residence). This RSD / expensive reissues approach is mainly major label driven and, unfortunately, it's moving the whole vinyl market towards there. They still bet on the same old ethics of remastering and repackaging something that was already good and trying to make ends meet with the new era of free downloads and piracy, On the other hand, no one's obliged to buy anything, so... I try to support those who keep things straight.
