Just wanted to come in and post that I stumbled upon The Fleeting Joys and I am completely enamored with their sound. So good. Can't believe they never came across my radar.

DRI still play 200 cap rooms in the US ≠ Metallica being one of the biggest and most recognizable bands of the last 40 years. That’s how that equation works.

Stick a nail in the coffin of the SRC pressing. Apparently, the band has acquired the rights to repress their first two records. If SRC already has your money, you've been screwed.

Their live shows were always a good experience. Always an overwhelming sense of unity in the crowd. Seen them a handful of times going back to 2001 when they were on a side stage at Warped Tour. We were "woke" before woke was "woke." haha
I still agree with a lot of their views. But I do feel like they got soft on the establishment during Obama administration, and I'm more of a "criticize all politicians equally" kind of guy. I really don't like the taste of someone telling me "don't vote for this scumbag" while encouraging me to vote for another scumbag.  When I was younger it was easier to buy in to the hype, but in my older years the hypocrisy gets harder to ignore.

The conversation about outgrowing their view is interesting to me. I've had the opposite experience. I did not enjoy them or their views in the 90s/early 00s. I saw them a bunch just by virtue of opening for someone else (Bouncing Souls mostly). I was young. I just wanted to have a good time and not be preached at. I didn't care about politics. I saw them on their last tour twice and realized there was an equilibrium of their views and my awakening (and age). Their albums are hit and miss for me.  

There will be a different color for indie stores. 

Not every town has a cool record store. Maybe this release is for the kid who picks it up in nowheresville USA and it changes his life. 
 
I also think its pointless to adhere DIY punk mentality to a band of Metallica’s level. You want to talk corporations, they ARE a corporation

Your teal looks great. I saw some other pictures of it, but it look different (probably bad lighting). Hope mine looks like that.

Holy shit! This is one of those albums I just kinda assumed wouldn’t come out (I see you, Wrens). Preordered immediately. So far sounds MASSIVE.

It's fucking baffling to me that this was 24 years ago. 1996 was 24 years ago. JesusFuckingChrist. Anyway, probably wait for this to be on sale, but definitely a buy.

Song is terrible. Give me Return of...  so I can move on with my life.
