caninesapien
I understand TURNT....I'm still not caught up on fleek. so am I right about TURNT then? that it basically means drunk/stoned/high? Also, "wack". Does that mean good or bad?
Breezus
When something's "wack", it's bad.
Princess Logan
Yeah, TURNT is basically getting fucked up. Whack is bad, I think. I guess it could depend on context though? Kinda like gnarly.

emacs
On fleek means on point/perfect. I've never actually heard anyone say that though, only corporate Twitters trying to sound hip.
Valeriano
A couple of years ago when #yolo and #swag and all that stuff came about, I did the pretend-outrage thing of “man, these kids are using nonsense words these days, I must be getting old”, but I still kind of understood the meanings of them. Now over the last couple of weeks I’ve seen stuff like “when u in the club and u too turnt” or “when your eyebrow game is on fleek”. What the fuck do these words mean? Using my limited investigative skills, I’m taking “turnt” to mean “drunk”? Like “turned up” or something? “Fleek” I have no idea about. I've never heard the term fleek in my life, but I think I'm more concerned as to why the level of someone's "eyebrow game" is being measured in this fashion. Valeriano
When people censor themselves. "Heck yeah", really? Also, "bae" and "ayy". The fuck is that shit? When people censor themselves. "Heck yeah", really? Also, "bae" and "ayy". The fuck is that shit? Yeah things like "bae" are the worst in my opinion. It's literally just taking one letter out of a word for no reason.. And for some reason that makes it cool? I just don't get it lol.
Guest
I find fleek amusing, but that word doesn't roll off the tounge at all.. Really have to force its use.

And for some reason that makes it cool? I just don't get it lol. technically, it's an acronym, and it stands for "before anyone else", but it's stupid, and people use it and it makes no sense. captainaldous
My boss is awful with last names and always mixes them up and butchers them beyond recognition. Not sure why this bothers me, but it does. I want to punch anybody who uses the word rape/raped to describe anything other than an actual rape. Thank you! Guest
i say awesomesauce as a direct parks and rec reference. "i do love you. that's what makes the sauce so awesome."
caninesapien
Let's all just be honest, most of the new hip slang or catch phrases people are using anymore is really stupid. It's kind of interesting still because youth slang will always be a thing, it's just that now I am of that age when youth culture does seem weird and scary. Extra interesting because things like "bae" and "fleek" are just made-up words - I'm sure made-up words have formed part of youth slang before but these words are just strange. I want to punch anybody who uses the word rape/raped to describe anything other than an actual rape. Yeah. Well I don't want to punch anyone, I just don't like seeing it. Lately I've found myself saying "awesomesauce" and I really need to stop. I hate this term but it was pretty good in P&R. I feel like I should start saying "abso-tootley" as well. caninesapien
I particularly hate it when it's used in the context of a game or a contest or something, when it comes out like "Ha I totally raped you!" Yuck.
SBarry
Totally agree as I'm sure when I was in high school there were things others and myself said that people were annoyed by, but it's like every other God damn week there is some new dumb thing people are saying.
