lonesomexloveus
my bff calls Reeses peanut butter cups just 'Reeses'. ok, Reeses is the company. they make many different products. please specify which product you just consumed rather than saying 'Reeses'. is this like people in other parts of the country who just call every kind of soda, 'Coke'? If you honestly call them "Reese's Peanut Butter Cups" I think you're the outlier. There was a massive ad campaign in the 90s that encouraged people to refer to the candy as the name of the company. "There's no wrong way to eat a Reese's." +hecollec+or, konk and emacs

There was a massive ad campaign in the 90s that encouraged people to refer to the candy as the name of the company. "There's no wrong way to eat a Reese's." Not to mention the actual parent company is Hersheys. Reeses, although a company, is more a particular line of product, all dealing with the chocolate and peanut butter combo. Bladewillisisdead
Yeah, just saying Reese's is pretty common. I'll either say that or just peanut butter cups. Cause seriously, who eats any other brand of peanut butter cup? Calling all soda "coke" is something a monster would do. But calling soda "pop" means you're the literal devil. TheGhostOfRandySavage
I say "Reese's Cup" just to differentiate between the different Reese's options. Soda, Bladie. Soda.

Guest
While I'm aware that a majority of the country uses the term pop, I still think it's fucking stupid. Soda means soda. Pop means any variety of things- it's a sound, an action, a term for music and culture. But no, we're retarded for not using this far-too-commonly used word in reference to soft drinks. Rip
I too say "Reese's Cup." Also, I'm apparently the only person who calls drinks by their names? Mountain Dew, Coke, Pepsi, 7up, etc. You guys are weird.

FlippingOut
Lived in Michigan my entire life until recently. I was one of the only people to not call it "pop" ....cringeworthy
caninesapien
UK here. I sometimes call it pop. As in "if you're going to the shop will you get us some pop". But for the individual items, it's Coke, or Pepsi or whatever. To me, "soda" means soda water, which is disgusting.
