Guest
Speaking of eyebrows, I hate when people tell me I need to pluck, wax, or thread them. My wife doesn't let me do it anymore and I really don't care if they're thick or connected. My wife tweezes the middle sometimes. I would never tell someone they need to change their physical appearance. people arent allowed to say you should change your appearance, but its cool that your wife tells you you cant? caninesapien
You're so dense, my god. Edit: OOps I'm late. No worries, thanks though Seriously, anybody that says it should just shut up for a year. It's the kind of thing said by people who talk too much in the first place. So, you mean... children?
aflycon
"On fleek" is just terrible, it's neither particularly evocative, nor does it roll off the tongue. It just calls attention to itself, the centerpiece of a sentence that didn't need to be said. Seriously, anybody that says it should just shut up for a year. It's the kind of thing said by people who talk too much in the first place. This is probably the most eloquent takedown of anything I've ever seen. caninesapien
yeah and similar to the hack thing, how things can be described as "porn" if it's a pretty picture of something. eg foodporn, if there's a picture of a nice meal or whatever emacs
allenh
The older I get the more the abuse of language in general annoys me and for that this thread has me huffing and puffing way too much. Don't get old people, you turn into your parents whether you want to or not.

The Saint
I don't know if this has been stated yet, but when did guys start saying "My boy..." or "We're boys" in regards to their male friends. Did the word friend become emasculating or something?
Bladewillisisdead
"My boy..." has been around since at least the 90s. Probably longer.
The Saint
Hmm I had no idea. It just seems forced when I hear people saying "Oh my boy back home used to do this." or "We're gonna meet up with my boy later."

codeine
Can't stand when ppl use 'for sure' as a saying, instead of an actual promise to come thru on something The 'hack' comment reminded me of someone who frequently used the expression 'on the downswing' it was priceless! Bladew1ll1s1sdead
That forsure annoys me too.
parkinglot
I say for sure. I didn't think that was something that people were annoyed by, haha. It's weird for me to think that one year ago, I would joking call a friend a "pussy" and think nothing of it. Now words like that are completely out of my vocabulary. I mean, I've always been pretty PC with my terms of speech, but I can't stand when people use words like that now. The worst is when one of my friends will call a girl "slutty". Nails on a fucking chalkboard, especially when the dude saying it has probably slept with more people than the girl he is referencing. emacs
Team Avatar
I've been trying so hard to remove "pussy, man up, grow a pair" etc from my vocabulary because of what the words suggest.
diabretic
I've been trying so hard to remove "pussy, man up, grow a pair" etc from my vocabulary because of what the words suggest. I say pussy very sparingly and always ironically, don't think i use the others often. My biggest pet peeve is calling something "sick"
