Danh
I'm looking for some sad (or sad sounding) albums to listen to. Can anyone recommend any? I'm familiar with: - Red House Painters (and related bands) - Jason Molina - Townes Van Zandt - Slowdive - Annabelle's Garden - American Football - Carissa's Wierd Any genre or sadness level (even if it's subtlety sad) is welcome. McCandless
Promise of redemption - When the flowers bloom. He wrote the album when his girlfriend got into an accident whilst on tour and he couldn't get back to see her before she passed away. He wasn't going to release it as it was too personal but thought if it helped him get through it, it could help someone else. Beautiful album. billya
The Horrible Crowes - Elsie. If the last song or two on that album doesn't absolutely break your heart, Noah Gunderson - Day is Gone will.

dawhizz
Phosphorescent (particularly Aw Come Aw Wry, Pride) If you like folk at all, Mickey Newbury is great and the album Frisco Mabel Joy has possible the saddest song I know, called Frisco Depot
