circuit bored records Posted November 14, 2014 Share Posted November 14, 2014 Let's not forget the reason the first season was incredible was the fact that it was sourced from a well-written novel and therefore had a complete story arc with great character development. It wasn't like other shows that were consistently fantastic that were the brainchild of a talented screenwriter. I enjoyed the whole show series and even applauded the non-sensical "let's fuck with everyone" finale for how ballsy it was to end the show as such. After looking back on the finale, I think it's pretty cool that the writer's took it in a completely different direction than anyone could have guessed. Head writer Melissa Rosenberg left after season 4 as well. Chip left as showrunner after only one season and then Scott Buck ran the show for the last three seasons. Deb and Dex love one another and want to be together? WHAT THE FUCK! The thing that pisses me off is he abandoned his kid! While he had a difficult time relating to others, his parental instinct of protecting Harrison was always there! He should have been an alien the whole time. That would have been the best fucking ending. I'm pissed off now just talking about that horseshit of a finale. I was really impressed by Colin Hanks in his season.
