I think it makes more sense to think of the crate membership fee as a flat shipping rate, e.g. $6 for shipping no matter how many records you buy from the store. And if your record store carried exclusive variants that some people shit themselves over and-or proceed to flip. The subscription fee also covers shipping costs. I was a member for 3 months but took this month off until the avalanches album drops soon so I do not know how many are in there right now but they have a decent selection of exclusives every month, all the backlog of albums of the month that have not sold out yet and then some general releases sprinkled in.. they also have a sale section but most things in there go pretty quick it seems. If I had to guess though I would say a good 40-50 seem to usually be available anytime I was browsing. Refreshed and it said thanks for your order and I got a confirmation email. Still tweeted them to see if my order did actually go through? They're definitely having server issues though. Looks like about 1600 are left, but that will go down fast if they get the server issues taken care of.
